I've finally gone off the deep end. I'm investing all the money I got for Christmas, plus $500 extra, on a home theatre system. But is it worth hooking up my gaming rigs to the theatre?

Hells yes!

I got a surround sound system and I can't wait to get it back to Madison to hook it up and play in total submerssion of sound and glory.

Why would a gamer buy a home theater system and not play their consoles through it? ;) That's kinda like buying a Lamborghini Diablo to drive to the end of the driveway and pick up the mail.

I have my XBox hooked up to my home theater system, and I really, truly adore it -- 5.1 audio, a number of 16x9 games, stunningly gorgeous graphics... I really wish my set, a 36" VVega, supported progressive scan. Though I've yet to make the HD plunge, if you have, most XBox titles support 480p, and there are a handful with 720p and 1080i support as well.

Beatdigga, you'd be a fool not to. I just got my new 5.1 setup for my computer and playing Medal of Honor has never been the same!
