I went out and got 3 cartoon DVD selections today. I went for variety...2 classics, one modern.

Tom and Jerry's Greatest Chases: Wonderful color and print quality. Great sound. The one edit to "Little Orphan" doesn't bother me, really...it's not disruptive. I STILL haven't seen all the cartoons on it yet. It contains 14 of them. HIGHLY recommended.

(Goodtimes Video) When Popeye Ruled the Seven Seas
Eh...it was only 5 bucks. That's about what it's worth. BAD prints...CN has better. It's still a public domain DVD of Popeye, so at least I can say I HAVE some Popeye cartoons. It's all the color Fleischer featurettes and a couple early coolor famous cartoons. Have not finished it yet.

Batman Betond: Return of the Joker: Original Uncut Version
I had heard nothing but good things about this. They're right...watch this one and you're in for an exciting ride. It's animated, but it's NOT for kids. It is, I would venture to say, just as good as any of the live action Batman movies, if not better. If you don't like Batman, don't bother, but if you like Batman and/or Batman Beyond, it's for you. The writing is great, the animation, for its budget, is fantastic, and the color and sound will amaze you. The bonuses on this one are fun...you can watch it with director and creative team commentary.

I am a big intention also where buy this DVD, but that's a question of money. :)

Also that's not disturb for me from the edit of "Little Orphan". Normally, Teletoon french air the cartoon on all uncut. Same where probaly offensive like the suicide in "Martian Throug Georgia". :moon2:

"Tom and Jerry's Greatest Chases" is a great collection, although "Jerry's Diary" was a strange choice...this was one of the first two DVD's I ever bought.

I can't say that I'm a fan of Batman Beyond, but I guess I'd be willing to give this one a shot. How would you compare it to Mask of the Phantasm? I still consider that the only decent Batman movie. I think it's wonderful.

Well, it's a bit different from Mask of the Phantasm...but I'd say if you liked that one, you'd also like this one. "Return of the Joker" is much faster paced...I'm not sure about the edited one, but the version I have is surprisingly violent for a movie based on a show supposedly for kids. So, I'd say it's on par with, if not better than, "Mask of the Phantasm", and much better than any of the live action movies, even the Nicholson and Carrey ones.

I'm not sure. The language selection screen does not seem to offer it...but there could well be a separate version in French. Of course, there wouldn't be too many opportunities for them to SPEAK French .
