"The Cuckoo Clock" - edited
"The Cat That Hated People"
"The Shooting of Dan McGoo"

Even with all the reminders I still set my VCR for the usual time (1-3am)... so I missed Popeye. Oops!

I overindulged in BBQ on Sunday, so I got to stay up and see it live:

"Spinach vs. Hamburgers" (restored Paramount titles)
"The Fly's Last Flight" (restored titles, time compressed opening)
"A Peep in the Deep" (original titles)

The weakest of the 1949-55 Popeyes seem to be the ones that got time-compressed when CN restored the titles a few years ago. Maybe whoever was doing the work just wanted to be over and done with it faster. "A Peep In the Deep" has the weirdest Popeye voice since "Be Kind To Aminals" which makes me think this is the one Mae Questel did Popeye's voice in.

Was "Spinach Vs. Hamburgers" edited? I hear removed in it was a clip from "Pop-Pie Ala Mode".

Yes, "Spinach VS. Hamburgers" was edited; the entire scene where Popeye beats up the cannibals from "Pop-Pie A La Mode" was edited. if you look real hard, you can see the poster shots behind Popeye as he goes into clips from "She-Sick Sailors".

It seems that The Cuckoo Clock always has to be edited, even late at night.

The Cat that Hated People is a ripoff of a B&W Looney Tune titled Porky in Wackyland.

The title of The Shooting of Dan McGoo is some kind of Dan McFoo joke.

The Cat that Hated People is a ripoff of a B&W Looney Tune titled Porky in Wackyland.
It borrows the wacky atmosphere of Wackyland for the moon, but plotwise, it isn't like Porky In Wackyland.
