According to a production member, a test screening of the film went horrendously-half of the audience got up and left. They also talk about some of the horrible factors that apparently made the film so bad.

Good to see audiences still have some good taste after all.

Ha ha! HA HA HA! Oh my, GOD! I can't believe it failed so horribly!

Oh, wait, yes I can. It was a piece of CRAP.

*Laughs uncontrollably until he just can't anymore, trying to catch his breath*

Wonderful!

Edit: WHEE! This is my 300th post! Love me! ... Or not. Whee!

I wish I knew. But I'm glad that someone saw what a load of crap it was. As if we need more crap added to the entertaintment litterbox.

Thank God the movie is scrapped!

It sounded like a bad idea to begin with.

I guess the audience has some common sense after all.

Thank you the Good Lord in Heaven! :D

Now if only more movie studios followed suit with some films...

It seems that their is some dignity in the human species still. That's refreshing.

I'd heard about this film. Reading the plot summary at the website, this sounds like something that someone at a message board (or, for that matter, a humor site, like The Onion) would come up with to mock the animated films that are churned out (as opposed to produced). The voice cast, more or less, reflected this: Ludacris, Lil' Kim, Carmen Electra and William Shatner (who, it seems, was cast in his Osmosis Jones role). Uh-huh. Doesn't really matter to me if this film gets released or not, but, to their credit, the producers do deserve points for trying something daring...or am I forgetting Ralph Bakshi's output?

And once again, the screw-ups get rewarded, placing the blame on others.

Lord, how I hate American business, entertainment or otherwise, sometimes.

THANK GOODNESS!!!!
I'm not suprised that the test screening went bad. No one wants to see Flash animation on the big screen :p
Seriously, that story was just WRONG on every level! If I wanted to see a badly animated kid curse and hang out with prostitutes, I'd watch South Park.

I'm all for more mature animated films hitting the theatres but, so far, the only theatrical animated films (above a PG rating) that have been released are 'South Park:BL&U' and '8 Crazy Nights'. If the mainstream public is EVER going to take mature cartoons seriously, they'll need to see something that doesn't involve sick, gross out hijinks and crude sexual humor

I kind of find it hard to happy about this, myself. Let's see, animators get completely screwed over, and morons in production who made the problems get to stay. Oh, and my feelings about Hollywood just being interested in churning out crap get reinforced.

Yay.

It's a good thing, too. God must be watching out for all of us. Too bad a sign like this couldn't save us from all the movie dreck that has been released lately.

On the plus side, at least the audience is smart enough to know when they're being fed absolute crap. And they appreciated the animator's efforts.

Take note, people! The masses WON'T, uh, sit for this! They stood, and walked out!

Let's just hope that someday this will go far enough to finally put those bastards in Hollywood in their place for good someday. But I doubt it.

For that we'd need an American-produced animated film on a par with "Grave of the Fireflies" put in wide release. But what chance is there of that happenning? (Yes, that is a rather lofty goal, but right now, nobody stateside is even trying.)

at this point you'd think that after Revolution (the production studio - Sony is the distributor) had sunk a few million into 7 1/2 months of worthless labor, the production team would have tried something different - you know, actually finishing the script before putting the film back into production.

you'd think.

but animation executives don't, and production again ramped up in april of 2002 with a full crew, an unfinished script, and an unfinished storyboard.

poor management combined with a complete lack of passion and vision on the part of the creative team made the movie weak. creative executives made it weaker. the cronish hag of a producer (a true dinosaur of animation management who had also helped ruin films at Warner Bros. & Disney), riddled the film with song and dance numbers. The top floor executives then thought it would be cool to add some x-treme fight sequences, and proceeded to steal scenes from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Iron Monkey, Blade II, & various jackie chan films. very inappropriate to the overall feel of the movie - made a bad thing even worse.Wow. Just... wow.

Come on Revolution Studios has to release this movie. Maybe some of the people who saw the content in the movie at the test screening are not the kind of audience for it. The right audience for this are for those who enjoy South Park or anything you watch on MTV. They have to release this movie no matter what! They just can't release this movie ever! They have to release this movie when it's in the can. It is the way of the world.
