Well since school is starting, (and for a few people it already started) what grade are you going to? Post your replies.

I'm entering 8th grade. Also I'm starting school on Wednesday.

I'm gonna be a sophomore in high school. Finally made it to double-digits in the grade business... :)
This is nice, because in my school, freshmen are picked/chastised/tortuted, and now I can be one who makes people miserable, instead of getting made miserable myself! :D

I know I'm old for my grade, but I'm going into 9th. Don't think it's because of my current behavior, since that decision was made long before foist grade.

Thanks for replying, Pete, I was starting to feel old! :D

I just graduated college in May, though, so I'm still not as old as Peter.....:p

Well I'll put it to you this way. I graduated high school in 1984 and been working fulltime ever since. Now don't you feel young.

Tommarow I enter the the 2nd portal of Hell..... 7th grade...... Happy,happy,joy,joy...... It really sucks. I get to be pick on because of what I look like, what I like (I like goth music so I'll be picked on. I like mostly KoRn, Marylin Manson,Linkin Park and Gorillaz.)and because of of some of my friends (I'm a nerd so I'm friends with the nerds.)

Gotlucky, be sure to stand up for yourself. You won't regret it; once you do it, the bullys likely won't come back. Trust me, I was in the same position.
I was picked on because of my voice...it is some indistugushable accent, most think it close to a British one. Eh, we should probably complain in the Sorrows of School topic in the Ani-Gen board...

I'm currently in my junior year of college. See, I transferred from community college to a university. I already completed my general education requirements, and I just have to do two years in my major: Film. I don't want to jinx it, but I think it's no small stretch to say...life is good.

One quick correction. I will be going to school on Wendsday. Not Tuesday.

Hey Gotlucky64,

I was picked on by this one guy when I was a sophomore in high school. He was a skinhead (wouldn't surprise me if he were a Neo-Nazi). He was in my exploring technology class (in that class we did stuff like building flower pots out of wood and making cars that we shot off with a CO2 cartrige). We were taking a break and he wanted to fight me for no apparent reason. He called me a "stoner" and a "pothead." I lost control of myself and swung my fist at him. He grabbed my right-hand ring finger and pulled it, dislocating the bone in it. What I should have done was told the teacher. Fortunately, the jack***** was expelled from my school about a month later (he dislocated my finger in October). I never saw him again.

So what I'm saying is that you're not alone. Most everyone has been picked on at one time in their lives. ;)

Thanks for replying- I was beginning to think I was the chaperone of sorts! I graduated high school in 1982, got my first diploma in 1988 and my second one in 1991.......

When I was in fifth grade, they're was this older kid in my school that made fun of me and punch me. I got so pissed at him one day, that since I was a midget compare to him, I flipped the bird at him and said " Shove it " just before I left the bus. After that for no reason, he became friendly with me. Boy, I'm suprised how a bodily gesture can end a person's rein of terror.

Well tommorow, I'm gonna stare 8th grade straight in the eye. I wish everyone a great and wonderful school year.

--for circumstances beyond my control (long sad story), I would have completed two years of grad school in May 2000. I'd have gotten my PhD, and the "Dr." in my handle would be official....

It looks like my Spanish teacher is a Looney Tunes fanatic too! He's got LT of EVERY thing! He's even got a poster and cut outs from previous LT calanders, mostly the one (I USED to have it) with the LT characters in various locations around the world. The poster he had in their was nice too. It has all of the major LT characters (even Speedy) and more of the major supporting cast (Petunia, Marc Anthony and Pussyfoot, Hubie and Bertie, and Claude)! I'm gonna like this class...

Classes started for me today. I'm a college senior. I am actually glad to be back at school. There are more friends here, better internet connection, and at least for the time being, less work.

My dorm floor's janitor must be an LT fan too. Last semester, he found a picture of Bugs and Daffy that I threw away from the Gene Shalit/LT calendar and taped it to the door to his supply room. It's still there.:)

most of my school life i was teased for not "acting black". i spoke correctly and didn't call attention to myself. moral: be yourself and ***** what others think. you live happier that way. people will notice you and you won't even know it. some will try to emulate you. imitation is the fondest form of flattery.

I'm only a young 34 yrs of age, and I finshed school back in 1986, and decided not to go for college but instead, went to pursue a muscial career (in several bands) and then a few years later took up film studies all by myself.

To everyone that is in school, have a great year and get great grades... :)

Hey, don't pick on freshmen! We were all freshmen once...though I'm the only kid in my school who does not pick on them....
....and kudos to everyone who stands up to bullies, even if they don't win. It shows you aren't going to go by mildly...

....I had two tales of fighting bullies, which I won, but that's for another post....if I should even talk about them....but they became a LOT friendlier to me and everyone else in school after the fight...

Hey, my first post over here! :D

Anyway, I started my junior year of college two weeks ago. But with art projects and politcal science papers hanging over my head, it feels like two months!

P.S. For those of you who get bullied a lot - I can definitely relate. Fourth grade was living hell for me - did one embarrassing thing early in the year (might talk about that in another post on the AnGen board) and never lived it down for the rest of the year. And this wasn't your usual kids' teasing - I got a rock thrown at the back of my head during class once, and the guy who threw it was grinning like a fool, waiting for me to cry.

So don't feel bad if you get picked on - like someone else already said, we've probably all been there.

I remember watching BUGS BUNNY'S CHRISTMAS CAROL in Spanish II my junior year of high school for a Christmas party. It was in Spanish (of course). One student shook his head in disbelief and asked the teacher why she wanted to watch it. She told him that she still liked to laugh at them and explained that these cartoons were originally aimed at adults. We also watched a few Disney movies in Spanish II like THE LITTLE MERMAID and TOY STORY.
