I'll never forget it, the first time I saw Batman was when they aired Tim Burton's Batman on German Television on Christmas in 1992. Watching the movie was really thrilling, I remember I had to hide under a blanket because I was so afraid of the Joker :o The entire movie was great I loved every second since then I was a Batman fan ;)

Batman(1989) was the VERY first movie that I saw in the theaters when I was like 4. THis was my first encounter with Batman. To this day it is still my favorite movie of ALL time! My second encounter was watching old 1960s repeats on the family channel back when it still had good shows on it(not like FoxFamily today):)

Watching the reruns of the 60s TV series after school. I don't think I knew anything about Batman before that.

My first encounter with Batman was with B:TAS. I actually had no interest in Batman before that, but I thought it looked cool from the comercials so I decided to give B:TAS a try, and I loved it since the first episode!

See ya!

What!!! You were 4 years old and they let you go to see such a movie? In Germany you had to be 12 yrs old otherwise they wouldn't let you go in . I think in the UK the movie was rated 15 (which means you had to be 15 to see it)

If I had kids I wouldn't let them watch BATMAN until they're 10 years old. I was 11 when I saw the movie and I still waws scarred to death.

I guess my first encounter with Batman would have been in Super-Friends. Around that same time my daddy brought me home a copy of the 1966 Batman movie. I loved the film. Then I started buying the comics just to see the pictures. So I was a Batman fan before 1989 Batman film, BTAS, and all that.

Well, i don't remember my very first encounter w/ Batman, persay. I know that i had always known about Batman; what kid hasn't? But i do remember being pretty young and being pretty scared of 1989 Batman. And so when BTAS came out, my mom wouldn't let me watch it too much. I sometimes convinced her otherwise and sometimes just watched it w/o her knowing. But then as i got older, i really loved it. So now i'm a huge Bat-fan!!!

I can't beleive that you were scared by the original BATMAN when you were 11!!!! It was rated PG-13 here in the states which means you have to be 13 but if you are with your parents it doesn't matter. They will let you in. BY the time I was 11, I not only owned the movie on video but had practically memorized. What about it scared you???:)

it'd be the Batman (1989) movie..I remember I was allowed to get it from the library once every summer. My mom didn't like me watching alot of violence, but she let me watch Batman..but not Ninja Turtles..ah well.

I was around 5 when I saw it.

In Canada, the Batman movie is rated PG I believe. Batman Returns, on the other hand, is rated 14....

I don't live in canada or anything..it says so on back of the DVD's.. :)

Of course that ugly clown scarred me, it was so unpredictable what he would do next.

My first encounter was in 1989. I was four and my parnets rented Batman (1989). But, I wasn't paying attention to it. I really got interested in Batman after seeing a preview of Batman Returns. I started to watch Batman: The Animated Series since it premiered, even after it changed to The Adventures of Batman and Robin and switched to Kids WB and became The New Batman Adventures. I'm waiting for JLA to come on. So, since B: TAS, I've been a Batman fan.

BTAS or the old 60's series. I can't remember which came first, but that was my first encounter.

My first encounter was seeing Batman (1989) in a movie theatre. Ever since then I've been hooked :) The fact that Batman is a normal human unlike most other supherheroes is part of what I love about him (well, normal in that he's not good any superpowers; his life has been far from normal! :)) I've seen all the Batman movies since that one in the theatre, even *shudder*...Batman Forever and Batman and Robin...(sigh) Why can't they make another live-action Batman film in the same vein as MOTP?

And when I was in 4th grade and Batman: TAS first aired...man, it was like heaven :D

I will alway remember my first encounter with Batman...

It was a gloomy rainy day and I was bored. So I started flipping through the channels until my eye spotted something interesting, to my surprise it was Batman!...in french...I was about to chage the channel but the episode was so intense that it got my total attention. After seeing "Perchance to Dream" my first ever Batman episode, I was hooked for life and wanted more. :D

The 60's reruns and then there was 'Batman and the Super 7'(I'm really showing my age here).

I remember seeing Batman on the 1973 SuperFriends TV show. I wanted to drive the Batmobile soooo bad. A few years later I saw the 60's Batmobile at a car show, and i got to sit in the driver's seat! I was the coolest kid on the block!

My first was, of course, the Batman TV series with Adam West. Sitting in front of the Tv with a towel tied around my neck and Biffing and Bamming the villains right along with the Caped Crusader!
Then got to top that off by meeting the 'Man in Tights' 20 years later at a convention.
