I think Shriek was the best villan created within Batman Beyond. Shriek had no reason to hate Batman, (he could hear again with a device he invented) but attempted to exterminate the caped...err...cowled crusader anyway because the principles involved. Shriek was honest about himself and accepted his insanity (Re: "You're Crazy!" "Duh."), and even worked on devices to help other deaf people (while in jail). Shriek had many aspects to his personality and all of them worked to make things interesting when he confronted Batman on the field of battle.

Well, i agree w/ you that Shriek is the best BB villian. Largely because he was in Babel, my fav BB ep! But he did have a reason to hate Bats. He even said that he wanted revenge on him because he could never hear "outside this infernal suit" or something like that. Shriek was obsessed (to a certain degree) w/ sound, and had to get even w/ the person who took away his ability to hear, regardless of if he could use a device to or not. But that's just imo.
And when did he help deaf people in jail? I don't recall that in the series. Maybe a comic?

I agree with the lot of ya!! Babel is even my favorite episode too!! Although my opinion has a small twist of difference because Shriek is a VERY close second if not tied BB villain with Blight. I just love the connection he and Terry have....uh, had. (doh!!)
I guess that's why the three who are at the top of my BB villain list will always forever be up there and won't change. Blight, Shriek, and Inque all have a certain connection/aggrevation with Terry/Batman. Gotta love it.

It was in the episode where Shriek and his "assistant" were in jail. Shriek mentioned what he was working on before they escaped. Both were captured by Batman and as Shriek's henchman was complaining Shriek took of his mechanical "ears" and blanked it out...Heh, I forgot the episode name but it is out there.

I would pay good money (if I had any!) to see Mr. Freeze and Blight go 10 rounds one more time. I also agree with the many posts that say that Blight was waaay under-used in Batman Beyond. I always thought he was supposed to be McGinnis's "Joker." That was the setup, anyway. By the way, did he die, or could he still be out there in Batman Beyond's time? If so, he could make an appearance on Zeta. He could try to kidnap Zeta and get his son to put his mind in Zeta's body, so that he'd become more or less immortal (a la "Lost Soul"). Then we could have another Batman Beyond crossover, where a new-and-improved Blight (in Zeta's body) would take on Batman. Yeah! :p

My Fave Five, in no particular order:
1. Spellbinder - Pscyhological enemies are always cool, IMHO!
2. Inque - Despite her vulnerabilities to water and cold, she's still a tough one to beat.
3. Mr. Freeze - Like a previous poster said, that new suit of his rocked!
4. Shriek - interesting combination of genius and rage (at Batman for costing him his hearing). Interesting that he wouldn't even exist if it weren't for Derek Powers.
5. Mad Stan - He's just plain nuts, but driven by his own twisted socio-political agenda. Of course, I just like hearing him yell "Blow it all up!!"

My fav villains have to be Blight, Shriek and Inque. i think those three were the most developed villain characters in the series. the had debt to their character and you also kinda felt sorry for them in a way.:rolleyes:

Inque. I've got a soft spot for female villains. Blargh. That and she was just so darn cool.

Frankly I like inque, but.....I'm finding that they recycle old villians into the new.
Clayface = Inque
they are verry similar but not quite
Two-Face = Terminal
You would only see the resemblance if you read Batman Beyond #12
Joker = Jokerz(that was obvious)
Some Jokerz are more like Harly wanting to have fun, fun that may involve kiling or robing someone but fun never the less. Verry few of them are like the Joker, plotting schemes that would involve alot of profit, large masicker, or something that would be remebered forever. I have actually not seen one like this but....
Mad Hatter = Spellbinder
mind controll is mind controll, the way they use it, and the costumes, are really the only differences
Killer croc = I'm sure there's a slicer out ther who is alot like killer croc.
That is all I got
Batman really needs a arch enemy though, I'm sorry but blight just dosn't deliver. Perhaps we can solve this though.....
