Anyone else catch this? This is one of the funnier ones I've seen lately. I really wish I got it on tape.

They managed to to take "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and warp it into one of the funniest Funhouse toons I've seen in a while.

Some things included off the top of my head:
Patty and Marci turn into Lesbians; Michael Jackson's baby beating him up; The guy's who's dating Jennifer Lopez had his hands grown in size to match Lopez's rear.

They even managed to get Brad Pitt to voice about 30 seconds of doing the NBC nightly news when Dan Rather turned into Brad Pitt. Wonder how much that must of cost?

"Goodbye Lesbians" - Charlie Brown

I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!

And it was weird - I was watching "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on Friday night and I made the observation that all they did to decorate the tree was just take the ornaments and things and wave their arms around the tree. Maybe Robert Smigel listened to me, lol.

Other things that stick out were Shroeder and Pig Pen turning into the members of Phish, lol.

"...what did we just do?" - Linus

Ironic that the best episodes of this season involved politicians hosting. Yeah, this cartoon was great. I wish TV Funhouse was still playing on Comedy Central (or another channel).

I still love: "The Relig-tables!" Their spoof on Vegi-Tales. Funniest thing I've ever seen!

I maybe a hardcore fan of VeggieTales (*dodges bricks*), but I honestly thought that SNL spoof-while a bit over the top-was actually pretty funny. *laughs*

As far as kid shows go, VeggieTales is actually pretty clever sometimes.

Back on topic, I didn't see this last cartoon, but the TV Funhouse shorts are usually one of the highlights of SNL. You gotta love the Ambiguously Gay Duo.

Nuuuuuu! Ed missed it! Ed watched Ed on CB and then went to bed! Ack, need Comedy Central to air it...

I'm sorry but I don't think it's right for them to be making fun of something that has become a part of Americana for the last 52 years. That's like the Crank Yankers making fun of the Muppets.(they actually did that a couple of times)

Mel Brooks said about making "Spaceballs" that he didn't want to make fun of a bad movie-- that was too easy. He wanted to make fun of the best movie he could find, which is why he picked Star Wars.
I think the Mel man's wisdom applies here. Poking fun at something isn't the same thing as insulting it or calling it bad. In a strange way, it's often something of a compliment. I know that if I made a movie, television show, or comic strip, I'd be delighted if someone thought it was important enough to parody.

The whole Peanuts gang has been tainted  What would Mr. Schulz say if he saw that?

Y'know, this isn't the first time this has happened.Remember a couple of years ago when Mad TV did a South Park style parody of the Peanuts?I didn't approve of that one, especially when Snoopy goes and kills everybody "WWI flying ace" style, then biting Charlie Brown's head off.

Also there was this one time in the old Wild Cartoon Kingdom Magazine where they show Charlie Brown kicking Lucy's head off.

the Point I'm making is that it's okay to do safe parodies,as long as it doesn't insult anyone that made the show/movie/cartoon.
but when they have characters killing each other, having sex,act way out of character, that's where I draw the line.

Well, if he wasn't dead already, this probably would have killed him ^^;

Do you realize how insulting THAT statement is? "Safe parodies?" you sound like a cencorship-happy nickelodeon or disney channel exec or an overprotective parent.

I am neither of those,it's just my opininion.God,you guys sure do have a thing againt those who speak their own opinions.First, you bash me for having an opinion against Adult Swim, then after I added my picks for worst cartoons(South Park,Sealab)Zarius said I wouldn't know good cartoond if it bit me on the butt. Then there was that comment I made about the Power Rangers being unoriginal over at the Entertainment board,Now this!
I have had it,I'm not staying in this biased site any longer.Good Bye!

So? If he doesn't like that sense of humor, then so what? There's a big difference between just disliking certain kinds of humor and trying to get them banned from the airwaves or whatever. He's just saying he doesn't like some that darker humor. Give the guy a break.

Well those Funhouse people can be quite the satrists- anyone else seen those pretty funny spoofs of Disney on SNL over the years as proof? They made three I know of, one where they turned Titanic into a Disneyfied flick called "Titey"[sample annoucers quote "See it now or your kids will hate you"], one where they had Ray Lewis star in a Disney movie as an apology for not letting him go to Disneyland because of his legal trouble, and here's a link to a sketch where they made fun of all those Disney DTV sequels http://snltranscripts.jt.org/01/01sfunhouse.phtml
