I've seen the new Robots in Disguise action figures Frankly, I don't think they're that impressive but that's somewhat off my topic.......

I have seen any of the previews for the show. For those who have how is the animation? Does have a similar look to the original? Does anyone have any pics or movies for me to see of it?

Well, here's what i do know: RID is a lot more kiddified than the original. It's a kids' comedy type adventure over in Japan. So, i wouldn't expect too much to be like the original, other than character names and whatnot.

For more info, i suggest http://www.bwtf.com/rid/ . You might want to surf the rest of the site too, but that's a direct link to the Robots In Disguise section.

I saw it in Cantonese. It's not that great, though I know one guy here who's seen it disagrees...

I plan on watching it, hopefully I'll enjoy RiD. But since I already know it's kiddified (and that's the Japanese version) I'm not expecting too much. Just looking forward to vehicle based Transformers again.

But really, RiD is nothing more than an attempt by Hasbro to buy some more time to develop the next NA Transformers series.

From what I've seen it's very anime, like Digimon.
I assume it would have better voices than Nemoy as Galvatron (that was hoky).

Hey! I happen to like the fact that Nimoy voiced Galvatron in the movie. That was sooo frigging cool. Don't know what you find hokey about it.

Anyway, I've seen the Japanese version TF:RiD, and I liked it. Yes, its more "kiddified" than what we're used to here in the states, but frankyly, it no more kiddified than many of the other TF shows that have been aried in the Japan.

I just find his voice stale and flat sounding. Just not evil enough for me I guess.

I loved it because it was so different. It wasn't your typical bad-guy voice that you were used to getting in toons at the time. It had this great deep resonance to it, and made him sound so much more older and more experienced than the high-pitched, almost-whiney voice Megatron had.

Actually, I thought that the TV version of Galvatron had a whiny, high-pitched voice, not Megatron.

I did like Nimoy's Galvatron, though.

Yeah, I agree, the TV version of Galvatron had an annoying voice as well, but I never erally cared for Megatron's either.

Frank Welker, who did the voice of Megatron, also did the TV version voice of Galvatron. Too bad he didn't use his Megatron voice because basically that's who he was, just a new body.

The man is amazing. You may think you know all he's been in - but it isn't until you check out his history and discover he was Spock's screams in Star Trek III you realise you have not even scratched the surface!!

I wasn't that impressed with most of the toys, but Prowl is pretty darn cool, I thought. He's got a neat transformation, his robot mode is extremely articulated, and the car doors over his legs make him look a bit like a samauri
