From Crown Jewels (http://www.crownjewelsnyc.com/) through The Jazz Messengers (http://www.jazzmess.com/) (Sorry Fata)

Also if this is out of place feel free to move it

We can't tell you too much about this because it's still "in the works"...but one thing is for sure- Steve Conte is back singing with Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts!

The new animated series, entitled "Wolf Rain" takes place on earth after a future ice-age. It will be animated by the same people who did Cowboy Bebop and as usual, Yoko wrote the music, Tim Jensen wrote the lyrics and the Seatbelts played it!

Last month Yoko came from Tokyo to NYC to record Steve on three new songs at Soundtracks Studio. They recorded a song called "Stray", and two versions of the title song "Wolf Rain"...one with the Seatbelts and one with Steve solo on a nasty, funky acoustic guitar. The sessions were engineered by the great Joe Chiccarelli who was Frank Zappa's main engineer for 20 years and just recorded the new Elton John album.

That's about all we know right now but stay tuned for more updates!

Cant wait...

Wolf's Rain is a Studio Bones anime

Studio Bones is ADV's *****

ADV has the anime network

(if you guys dont know what studio bones is, its a group that broke off Sunrise to make their own anime, in addition to animating bebop, these guys were responsible with Escaflowne as well)

Yoko Kanno, Steve Conte, Seatbelts...it doesn't get much better than that. Personally, I never enjoyed Bebop all that much, but "Call Me" and "No Reply" are simply amazing songs.

I'm as excited about this news as anyone who loved Bebop's music.

However, I'm also a bit cautious, as part of me suspects that the music is going to sound completely different from Bebop, as you can't just transplant that style of music onto ANY anime. Still, I'm hoping it'll be good, and I became a fan of Steve Conte's music after watching Bebop.

(Incidentally, I thought Yoko Kanno worked with the Seatbelts a lot, just that Bebop was the first time that they were NAMED "The Seatbelts". Am I wrong?)

After what Cowboy Bebop has shown us, you can't go wrong with Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts working together.
