I'm really liking this game. Good old school RPG, good story, the anime cutscenes are also good.

I'm close to halfway through it I think, and whats really getting my attention are all the dirty jokes. In the beginning of the game, they're pretty small but once you get your final team together and start the quest proper they start rolling.

An entire town of rednecks (whose family tree does not fork)

The most outrageous line I've EVER seen in an RPG, a villainess who thought she had petrified my team is suprised when one of the characters frees himself. "I can't believe your primal scream managed to break that stone shell!" "Oh yeah? well if you're impressed with my voice, you should see what my tongue can do!" I almost dropped my controller I was laughing so hard.

and numerous other examples.

I'm really enjoying this game. Can't wait to finish it.

One thing about Working Designs translations is that they LOVE the dirty jokes. Combine that with the general Game Arts humor and character interaction, and you've got and RPG that stands out quite a bit.

The Lunar series is definitely on if my favorites. Even though the story itself and game play are just so-so, the fun and humorous characters more than make up for it. They're fun games from start to finish. Heck, it's one of the few RPG's where talking to the townspeople is actually one of the more entertaining parts, and not an annoying obligation. Each townsperson says several different things (at least three) and the characters usually ad their two cents in on whatever they say, which is a welcome change from the usual RPG fare where the characters feel so distant from the rest of the game world.

But yeah, there're all sorts of funny easter eggs hidden throughout, like the merchant who mentioned how his friend, E. Bay, is getting rich with his revolutionary new way of doing business; or the guy who talks like Austin Powers. And make sure you go back and talk to people again every so often, because they change what they say quite often.

And one more thing: I wish more RPG's included bromides. :p

Oh, and be sure to pick up Lunar 2 when you're done with that one. :D

The rerelease. I didn't have a PSX when the deluxe came out.

I had three of the bromides, the Luna one you get from the basement of Alex's house, the Mia one that comes with nash, and a Jessica one I got from the temple. I wasn't paying attention and accidently sold the Jessica one to a shop for 1S :( I was cussing so bad.

MM-HMMM! I loved Lunar. Lunar 2 wasn't as good as the first, but it was still pretty cool.

I loved almost everything about the Lunar series, but one thing: The Dialogue! I didn't mind going back to read it, but now in every RPG I play, I have to talk to everyone at least twice to make sure that they don't say more than one thing. :p
