Found this on the ross report. Apprantly both Vin Diesel and the Rock have been considered/ asked to play VENOM in the sequel. Does this mean Doc Ock has been pushed aside (again). Who'd you want to play Venom? I personnaly think Venom should be in no. 3 but thats just me?

Comments?

I doubt Venom will be in the first sequel if he was going to be in one and either The Rock or Vin Diesel had to play him I would have to go with Vin he just fits the part more.

They're both over rated, and have really bad acting skills. If it were for looks though, I'd pick Vin. Even said that, I personally wouldn't want either of them to be in ANY of the Spider-Man movies.

Besides, Doc Ock has already been confirmed for the Sequel. I'm not too sure if the Lizard has been though...

Neither! I don't want those big bafoons anywhere near Spider-Man! Neither of them look A thing like Eddie Brock, although it would be funny to see Spidey get the best of them. I will say this, If Vin "I look like A big moron" Diesel wants to play Venom, he should only play him in the full alien costum, and have someone else with A spikey haircut play Eddie.

Brock Lesnar should play Venom. A perfect match.

Too right, sadly, the guy can't act very well (if you watch him on SMACKDOWN! he is absolutly terrible on the mike)

The Rock and Van Diesal? Who WRITES these polls, both of those steroid-ridden freaks suck.

I don't make the news. Personnaly I think neither should Venom. I think Spider-man 2 should be Doc Ock and The Lizard. No idea who should play either of them but I'm hoping that Spider-man 3 will be all about the Alien Costume and eventually lead on to Venom. Perhaps he should aquire it at the end of No. 2?

Neither should play Venom, and only Doc Ock should be in the the second movie. If we cram more then one villian in the movie it could turn into another Batman and Robin.

I also wouldn't want The Rock or Van Diesal anywhere near the Spider-man movie series.

Dude... be nice... he read that the two actors are being considered in a report, not that he's advocating either of them

No Wrestlers!!!!

I'm not even that excited about Spider-Man 2. The only thing that will make me pleased if Black Cat is in the sequel.

Go X2 :D

Yeah, that's better character devolpment for Ms. Hardy in the sequels ;)

Vin Diesel.

He's got incredible presence and would make for the ultimate Spidey bad guy.

Only thing I could say against him is that the prospect of Tobey McGuire beating Vin in a fight is pretty hard to swallow.

Definately NOT the Rock. I love him in the ring, but I find it hard to swallow him as an actor all together. Definately not the ultimate bad guy material.

Venom and Carnage are being slated for the third one - and Marvel is really pushing for it. The second will be Doc Ock as the main villian, with the Lizard likely a secondary villian - maybe Ock's assistant.

Plus, seeing as how Vin Deisel and The Rock lack any real talent whatsoever, I hope neither of them snag the role.

Plus I hope, while Venom and Carnage do show up, that they work by the whole 'alien' thing. Maybe approach it like Ultimate Spider-Man is - from a scientific angle.

Yeah I heard it was for the third film - personally I think both Venom AND Carnage will weigh very heavily on the story - there is way too much to go at. They need to keep it simple - or suffer the fate of the Batman franchise... :)

Two villians will be really heavy in the movie, but it can be pulled off if approached right. I think if Riami stays on for the third one (which I really hope he does), he may be able to pull it off. It will be difficult to make these characters good, but he can do it.

Last I heard Venom and Carnage whrere teaming up in the thrid one. Why? Does nobody think a 3 way fight would be better. No doubt that this way will reduce Carnage to an idiot that likes to kill while Venom just want to kill Spidey.

The Amazing Spider-man was rumoured to have 2 villians with Doc Ock as the main one and Lizard as a secondry villian. They weren't teaming up I heard.

Personally, I think they should alter the comic's continuity for the films and have Flash Thompson become Venom. He's already established as hating Peter in the first movie, and the kid who played him was in good shape. Even though Flash and Peter eventually become good friends in the books, since when does Hollywood stick to the source material?

Can't see that happening as Flash is Spideys biggest fan. Altough this wasn't shown in the movie....

Personally, I think neither should play Venom or Carnage. The characters should appear in Spiderman 3 (you know it's gonna happen).

Wait, whatever happened to Harry Obsoron? Isn't he supposed to become the new Green Goblin? He has a huge grudge against Spidey. I wouldn't mind if he left, really, but I'm confused that they'd just throw the character out like that.

Yes, Brock has the look down to an absolute T. But the man cannot act.

the rock just can't act... has anyone else seen scorpion king?? I liked vin diesel before he became the new action movie poster boy. like so many great things in the entertainment business, he has been ruined because every damn movie company wants to cash in on him. pitch black was his best movie. but about spider man... I think neither should, but vin diesel will, so I voted for him.

Venom cannot be done. In order for it to work right, they'd have to do the entire Secret Wars plot, since that's how Spidey got the costume that split off from him into Venom, or however it went...I think they should do Doctor Octopus in this movie, and either the Lizard or Harry Osborn as the Hobgoblin (yes, I think he should be the Hobgoblin) in the third...

In the 90's cartoon, they reversed the "Secret Wars", and "Venom" plotlines. So in the cartoon, Venom comes first after John Jameson (J. J's son) descovers Promephium X on the Moon, and crash lands on The George Washington Bridge. Secret Wars happens after that, so Venom could still work by itself in the movies. Also, I wouldn't want to see Flash Thompson (Joe Manganiello) get the Symbiot. He could be used as A pawn for Venom to lure Spidey into A trap, or something.

I will die a happy man if neither Vin Diesal and/or The Rock even be mentioned in a Spider-Man movie, the thought is just sickening. I would prefer that only Venom be the villain in the third movie becaue if you face it he is the cream of crop for Spidey's villains and putting Carnage in there would lead to another Batman mess. Prehaps if there were to ever be a Spidey 4 I could see Carnage in it but just have Doc Oct and Lizard be in 2 (Plus didn't Kris' Dunst report it being the two of them anyway?)

Venom and Carnage can be done - they just have to massively rework the origin much like the Ultimate comics are. And I think they should, too. Having aliens in the Spider-Man movies would just seem....weird...even if it is Venom and Carnage. Or even if they handle Venom like the animated series - as an mysterious, controlling liquid found on the moon.

Just no Vin Deisel or Dwayne "The Rock" please...

As much as I love Venom, there are many other villains that I'd rather see in live-action. Sandman, Electro and Scorpion to name a few. Spider-Man has the best rogues gallery of any superhero, IMO. (Yes, even better than Flash or Batman.)

I think Electro and Scorpion could really work as live action villians. Electro should be very easy to pull off, so there should be no problem there. Scorpion would be easy, too. Just tweak his design a wee bit and that's it.

The Scorpion would be another good contender for one of the sequles. Just adapt the story where Jameson makes A deal with Mac Gargan to eliminate Spidey. That in itself would make A good sequle, and J.K. Simmons would get more screen time. His costume should follow either the PS2 game's design, or the desighns from the 90's cartoon.

Neither the Rock, nor Vin Diesel should play Venom. They both suck, and cannot act. If they insist on choosing Vin, I could handle it, but if they dare to cast the Rock, I may strongly consider not seeing the movie at all.

I don't think putting Venom AND Carnage in the third movie is a very good idea. It would be too much to put into one movie. They should stick with Venom only, and save Carnage for a fourth. However, as much I'd love to see Venom in one of the movies, I think it would be a better idea to go with Harry as the Green Goblin, for continuity's sake, and I'm surprised they aren't going to. Or is Venom not yet confirmed for the third? If he's not, then I really hope they go with Harry.

Here's how the movies SHOULD go:

Spider-Man - Green Goblin
The Amazing Spider-Man - Doc Ock
Spider-Man 3 - Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin
Spider-Man 4 - Venom

And this is how the movies probably will go:

Spider-Man - Green Goblin (duh)
The Amazing Spider-Man - Doc Ock and The Lizard
Spider-Man 3 - Venom and Carnage
Spider-Man 4 - Who knows?

And this, unfortunately, means that continuity will be flushed down the toilet and Harry will never become the Green Goblin. Of course, we don't know what will really happen yet, but it looks like this is what it's shaping up to be. :(

See ya!

Personally I think that the perfect actor to play venom is:

Seann William Scott

why?...

Hmmm, I dunno, but I can just imagine him in that part.

Or may be Ron Livingston?

It depends on if they would rather use an over-the-top actor, or a more subtle actor.

I'm pulling for Ralph Fiennes(sp?) personally. After seeing Red Dragon I could see him in the role very well.

The comparison to the Batman movies got me thinking. It'd be bad if each movie had duo-villains again. Granted, it was mostly Joel Shumacher's "creative style" that turned Batman into self-parody, but the plots could have been much better if it focused on a single villain a-la Batman the First. I mean, the Mr. Freeze plot has enormous potential. Poison Ivy did little more than get a rise out of teenage boys.

If the second movie does turn out to be Doc Ock and the Lizard, I hope they go the way of Tim Burton's Batman Returns. It had Catwoman and Penguin and was still a great movie. As long as they keep Sam Raimi, I'm not too concerned.

So, my wish list:

Spiderman 2: Doctor Octopus (use Lizard sparingly)
Spiderman 3: Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin
Spiderman 4: Eddie Brock as Venom (absolutely no Carnage)
Spiderman 5: Crossover with Daredevil :)

Alright, maybe that last one's a bit over-the-top, but think about it. They share a common enemy (Kingpin), they've worked together in the comics before (I'm guessing), and having Tobey McGuire and Ben Affleck in the same movie leads to much $$$ which can be used to finance other projects.

Can you imagine how grat a live-action World's Finest starring Superman and Batman would have been?
