I recently found a copy of an uncut Fresh Hare and was very pleased to find the ending in tact.

Was it on one of those public domain videos?

I have a tape with the ending! It stinks that the CN version is cut. That was a good cartoon until the cut, which made it an awesome cartoon!

I wish I were just as happy as you guys. :(

On a public domain video I got for Christmas last year called "Cartoon Explosion", it did have "Fresh Hare" on it, but the ending with the blackfaced minstrels was edited just as it was on CN, except that this wasn't a dubbed version.

And yes, it does suck that CN edited it.

What's strange is that I have it on tape and it has the ending, but it doesn't have the opening and closing titles. I wonder if that's the way it originally aired. I know it has the opening and closing titles on CN, but that one's usually a dubbed version. Hmmm.

This cartoon appears uncut on the 1990 MGM-UA Cartoon Moviestars VHS tape, Bugs Vs. Elmer. I don't know how easy it would be to find now after 12 years, though. I used to have that one on a public domain VHS tape, but most PD tapes don't hold up to repeat viewings well.

I have an unedited copy from a 4 video PD set from Ebay. It's almost in full, it's just the WB shield at the start has been edited. The cartoon fades in from the 'Merrie Melodies' logo.
