The Flash #192 - Review
Excellent issue here, Run Roit seems to have a good storyline. Although I still do not like Kolins pencils. Still a goo issue an can't wait for part two
The Avengers #60 - Review
Smart move by me, my first Avengers issue and it is Part Four of a storyarc. Won't read till I have the first three parts.

All I got this week was Paradise X #7. I LOVE this cover, it's just awesome. This is the first issue of it I read and I liked it a lot. I thought Punisher #19 was supposed to be out today too, but I guess not.

My comic store which is suppose to get my titles in monthly and hold them for me (Which they have for awhile now.) for some reason didn't have 3 of my comics in this week. I guess I'll have to go elsewhere this weekend for them. I only got Wolverine #183 right now and read it.
Wolverine #183 - The Mafia Wolverine story continues and I'm really enjoying it, I really liked how well the art/scenes of Wolvie Killing everyone but the old man in that bar/store. I really like the quick talk Wolvie had with the old man before leaving the store and that we seen Punisher just walking along the streets. I also really enjoyed the extra Wolverine/Deathstrike (I think thats her name I forgot it at the moment) story the art was alright and the story was great and had some nice fights. Fans of Wolverine if you left this title you might want to return...
As for next week, right now it looks as if I'm getting all Ultimate titles: Ultimate DD and Elektra #2, Ultimate Spiderman #32 and Ultimate War #1. I'm also hoping HellSpawn #14 comes out as well...

Howdy,
I got:
- Avengers #60: I was really digging the first two issues of this story arc. I'm a bit surprised that the first arc is finished already, and more than a little disappointed. It did seem quite rushed, and rather anti-climactic. The quick summary:
Thor kicks someone's butt. Scarlet Witch kicks someone's butt harder. Avengers reunite and kick a whole lot of butt. Two transparent plot devices to get us to buy the next issues in the form of one sinister omen and one order we are deliberately not told.
I may pick up the next two issues for Gary Frank's artwork, but it'll have to be mighty impressive artwork.
- Fantastic Four #63: Still one of the best books out there. The only one misstep, IMO, is the bit where Reed is re-assembling his wife and his best friend after knowing there's a bad guy who can dissolve them, and then saying, "We can't reach Johnny. I hope that means the creature hasn't found him." Well, what the screaming blue heck ELSE would that mean?
And I knew being a math nerd would come in handy one day. The closing plot twist was GREAT, though I really have to wonder what exactly Johnny & Ben will be able to do to keep the Math Monster at bay.
Sadly, I don't think a longer review is in the cards here. Almost everything that I love about this issue is summed up in my longer review of #62 (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53589&highlight=fantastic+four), and I just covered the one thing I didn't like.
- Bone: Ghost Circles TPB: This led to a mass, 4-TPB reading spree last week, reminding me why I love Bone so much.
- Marvel Legends "Thing" figure, which is cooler than the pictures, but not as neat as I had hoped.
Also got a big pile of Marvel Legends figs from assorted toy runs on Friday, like a spare Iron Man & Dr. Doom, Spider-Man, the Rhino, and Captain America. I wonder when they're going to get around to making women.

Doom Patrol 13 - not a regular of mine but i saw it marked down to 50 cents so i figured id pick it up. Really good stuff, very funny. If i had a bigger comic book budget id definately add it to my regular pull list. The only complaint is that it had no action in it at all. A-
Thundercats 4 - i have not been very happy about this series and this issue did absolutely nothing to pick up my feeling towards it. It wasnt awful, but it just wasnt interesting. I love this 80's nostalgia thing thats going on. Its so good to see my favorite old toys and shows and comics around again. But the reason why GI Joe and Transformers and He-Man are doing so well with this nostalgia wave is because theyre taking the old concepts from the 80's and adding a new twist to them. New plots, new characters, new ideas, etc. The Thundercats series so far has done nothing more then recycle plots from 15 years ago and adding nothing to them. First its the Mutants looking stupid, then the Lunataks losing a battle due to in-fighting, and now the return of Grune the Destroyer? I read the 0 issue and i was so pumped because it looked like Mum-Ra was gonna to turn Wily Kat bad and turn him against the other Thundercats. Thats something really new and different, something i never expected. That plot has gone absolutely nowhere though. For an 80's revival series to be successful there comes a point where the nostalgia has to break away and the new story has to be told. This series hasnt even come close to that point. Because im feeling generous, ill give it a C.
Transformers: Armada 4 - now heres nostalgia done right. Theres Optimus, theres Megatron, they even got Starscream. And theyre all in a new situation doing new things with new twists on there stories. Plus u have the kids and mini-cons who've been a blast in this series so far. Really well written, i hope they keep up the good work. A-

Yes, I'm late and YES I am SO behind in my reading. My "books to read" pile keeps getting bigger, here are the latest additions from the 27th...
Batman 609
Batman Family 5
Catwoman 13
Superman Day of Doom 3 of 4
Titans 47
Action Comics 797
Batman: Absolution
Reed Richards

Fantastic Four #63
I propose that when they die, we freeze Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo's heads so that we can unthaw and clone them at a later date so as to ALWAYS enjoy their brilliant work.
God I love the Fan4 under them. Sue is hot, Reeds one bad mofo and Ben and Johnny are just great.
Daredevil #39:
Wow. Simply wow. And I love how the DA looks like Al Roeker from the Today show. Barry Allen cameo was kinda cool. LOVED the scene with the different heroes testifying -- especially IRON FIST. Cannot wait for next issue-- AGAIN
Daredevil/Bullseye: THE TARGET:
Eh. Its a Kevin Smith work, and frankly I don't much like the art, or the fact that he killed the woman with a toothpick through a plate glass window. Sorry Kev, I just didn't buy that one.
Gotham Girls #4 : Nice issue. Loved Montoya's internal monologue. Reminds me of old detective serials and Bill Watterson's "TRACER BULLET"
Amazing Spiderman #47:
I'm really really liking the whole Spider v. Wasp thing. I hope it goes somewhere and isnt simply ignored by Kevin when he come in to ruin errr take over the series.
ALEX ROSS CAPTAIN AMERICA POSTER:
I LOVE THIS THING. Being a HUGE Cap fan, I wanted one forever. I got the one that was hanging on the wall (last one in stock) and I got it cheap because the CBG felt bad about the tape (which i carefully and undestructivly removed). Why Ross doesn't do a FAN 4 poster is beyond me.

I'm quite behind, but I did get:
Birds of Prey #47-#49
Bruce Wayne: Fugitive Pt 1 TPB
Batman Family #4
Amazing Spiderman #47
JLA #75
Overall I was quite happy with all of 'em, although I'm still not enjoying JLA alot. I'll most likely drop JLA for Aquaman once it starts.

BTW, Ross did do a FF poster, although it was just a remake of Kirby's Fantastic Four #1.

I had the same thought. Whereas in Smith's original DD work (in all its brilliance), Bullseye's moves and abilities were astounding, but were believable enough. The toothpick thing was just TOO outrageous.

Blasphemy. I think Kollins is one of the most unique pencillers out there, and without him Flash just wouldn't be as good as it is right now.
And Kid_Flash, about the JL figures: they're not going to be $10 a pop. It's going to be closer to $6. Previews lists a different price than what we will see in stores such as Wal*Mart and Toys R Us. Those figures will only cost $10 if you buy them at a comic shop, but I wouldn't reccomend it, as comic shops' figures tend to be about triple the average price.
