Can anyone give me a list of what they are? My friends say that in some of the Expanded Universe books it says that he becomes more powerful than Master Yoda?

Help?

Only in their minds, my very young apprentice.

Not quite sure of Luke's force capability right now but he's definitely not more powerful than Yoda. It would be quite impossible considering he never got full padawan training. He's a powerful Jedi, but not THAT powerful.

Either you have some control of the force, or you don't. It's not like Smallville where Clark gains heat vision, x-ray vision, speed, and eventually flight :p

Actually, the EU has been very inconsistent when it comes to force powers. In Darksaber , a bunch of TRAINEES used the force to throw a fleet of star destroyers into another system when they were trying to invade Yavin. Other times, the writers give Luke some plot device that cripples him and keeps him from using his force powers. So there's really no answer.

But power comes from the Force. All training does is bring out skill. The power's already there. Given that Luke's father, Anakin, had greater Force potential than Yoda and was a product of the Force, it's very likely Luke was more powerful (ie. higher midi-chlorian count). And as time passes in the EU, Master Skywalker is gaining more experience on how to handle his power.

In order to have the power you would need to harness it, if you didn't have the training to harness it then it's doubtful you'd have the full force ability that you would if you had had training to harness it fully. It's possible you could have that amount of power after you learned to harness it and it grew into a greater power, but without full training to harness it, it can't grow.

Right, but the original question was whether Luke was more powerful than Yoda, not whether he could harness that power better. A better way to phrase the question would probably be: Is the EU Luke Skywalker a better jedi than Yoda? That would cover everything, not just raw power.
