Okay - we've all posted about our dream team ups for Batman, now who do you want him to avoid at all costs?
Me? The late Turtle Boy.

Frog Man from the old Spider Man comics. Or would that be one I'd like to see....????
Ok, I will most definately vote for Buttercup from the PPG. Wait, that one would be kinda cool, too....
Ok, this is it...STILT MAN! He was too much of a lame character to team up with anybody!

Daredevil, Punisher or Green Arrow. They're to similar. Odd-couples are more fun. The're all Bat's rip-offs anyway.
Good Team-up's:
Superboy, Ken Maters (Street Fighter)

Frankly, as hopeful as I am that these DTV Batman team ups will be decent, I think we all know that it's just a gimmic to try and make more money off of the animated Batman series. What's wrong with that? Well, seeing as how eventually we won't get anymore animated Bats, we should just be greatful for what we can get...but....
You know, I once read something that Paul Dini wrote (I think) in one of the first issues of TBA or TB+RA. He said that he would rather have a short, incredible run than a long average one anyday. Well, B:GA has become only average in it's stories and art, and I fear that all of these new projects will fall short too. It was one thing to team up Batman and Superman, and another to create the Justice League, but when Batman teams up with Plastic Man and Green Arrow?!? I know that this will really bother a lot of people, but these two characters really have nothing to do with the animated world of Batman! I thought people loved the series because it was a show with compelling storytelling, great art and integrity. All those who encourage chessy "team ups" are only supporting flashy, rushed, unoriginal projects like "Batman and Robin". What's really more important to you: Getting work that rivals MOTP or ROTJ in art, writing, music and directing, or just having Batman stuff, be it good or bad?
People, I know I sound anit-DTV, but I am sooooooooo not! I just have grown weary of being let down by work done just to make money. What ever happened to: "If there is a reason for the team-up:fine. If not then it is just a gimmic"? That is a rough quotation of an interview of Paul Dini that I read in an old StarLog magazine. Where have these values gone? Now you guys want to see Batman teamed up with the PowerPuff Girls! What I want is respect as a fan for the animated series: Great work, worth the money and the time. I want it all or nothing at all!

I can see the Green Arrow/Batman crossover, but it's the Plastic Man one that's got me worried. I'm not really a big fan of that character, and I don't see him as someone that the animated Batman would work with...

the joker. the day batman teams-up with the joker to fight another enemy would be horrible.
if dini is involved with the DTV's, it should be handled properly.

In the post above, you make many good points, and to be quite honest, I agree with a lot of what you say. However, I do have some comments to respond to your interesting post.
Of course they're in it for the money!!! Dini, Timm, WB Executives, they do need to eat and have clothes on their backs. Obviously WB Executives wear much nicer clothes on their backs, but that's beside the point. Like BWDK said so graciously in some other reply, "they're not in it for humanity."
Here's how I see it. Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, etc. are all getting paid to do something they love. The way our economy is right now, that's a tough thing to find. A job you love to do. I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to be paid for writing, directing, or drawing Batman.
Also, it seems they're airing the JLA because they want a show that offers variety. Not that Batman didn't offer that, but this is variety on a more grand scale. We'll see more heroes with more super powers, which I'm actually excited to see how they execute and coordinate that. Could it be possible if some of the characters attain popularity, they could spin off into their own animated series? Could you imagine? Green Lantern: The Animated Series. (wishful thinking) What I am skeptical about is how they'll have the group work as a team dynamic. There will be so much going on with so little time.

I agree with the Hatter up top. Schumacher! Let's throw Akiva Goldsman on to that list as well.

I would agree with you if I didn't know Dini was writing it. He's got a pretty good record, so I know he'll be able to handle these stories, which in someone else's hands might be cheesy, with the same skill as his other work.
I'm sure if Dini had his choice, he wouldn't be doing a series of team up stories. Not that there's anything wrong with team ups. I like them. They're fun. But considering how he resented the demand to include Robin in every episode of The Adventures of Batman & Robin, I doubt it was his doing. It's a creative restriction. It's likely the big wigs who made that decision. Still, I'm sure he'd rather work with this restriction to please us fans than to not do them at all. I know we won't be disappointed.
Edited to add: Maybe that person who's name I forgot that knows Paul Dini can confirm this? :O)
Edited again to add: xbuilder! That's his name.
