What's this doing in an AS board?

Yeah, it doesn't have a whole lot to do with AS in particular. I'll move it to WBC.

What are they talking about Pokemon beating out Vision of Escaflowne

And Gundam Wing is good and all but better then Bebop and Eva? I don't know about that.

Those have got to be the worst choices for both nominees and picks I've ever seen.

Pokemon over Digimon!? Pokemon over Escaflowne ?! Are these people freaking insane?! >.>

And Ghost in the Shell and GTO under the Teenage Girl selection?!

Christ onna stick, who are these people?

Atleast they didn't pick Shinji for best male. Blah...

Ick....

Wasn't Astroboy the first anime, or at least considered the most influential of all time?

All of these look like they were voted on by 11 year olds, sorry, but I just don't get some choices for nominees, as well as winners. Maybe I'm not in the right mode of thinking at the moment.

Sailormoon gets blocked out completely? Darn, I thought it was a pretty darn good show, and also very, very popular still in Japan, because of all the musicals that they are still creating out of SM characters amd stories, etc.

Ah, what do I know? I love Hime-chan no RIbbon, Hyper Police, SM, and Revolutionary Girl Utena. I must be crazy. :D

Yep. Crazy.

But don't worry, we're all crazy.

*Is getting ammo to go blast a hole the size of Krillen's bald head through the chest of whoever selected the nominees.*

Doraemon would be the most influential, as I see elements of it constantly even in work today. And I'm not sure if Astroboy *was* the first or just the first import..

Doraemon is not the first anime ever, but it is the longest running. I think it's been airing on TV non-stop since about 1978.

Galvatron "Doraemon is far from the first Anime Series."

HaWick was referring to the first anime series in the Best Anime grouping listed. :p

I think people know it's not the first series made. ;)

Astroboy has been influential not only in Japan, but very much worldwide as well. I hear way more about people getting into anime or drawing because of Astroboy than I do anything else. And all I was saying is that it predates Doreamon by a full decade or so, so I didn't get what you said about Doreamon being the first anime series. It may be the first to run a long time, the first to be so popular, but just the first? I didn't understand where you were coming from, that's all. Sorry if I misread something.
