Snopes.com (http://www.snopes.com) says that these photos might be doctored, and then again, they might not be. But they do say that whatever your opinion of one politician or another, it's dumb to assume that they would look through a pair of binoculars and stare at darkness without realizing something's wrong.

It could be that both Bill and George were handed the binoculars, they put them up to their eyes, found the lens cap was still on, and took it off. Or, they could have been night vision glasses, which would have worked even with the lens cap on.

Still, I think the pictures are funny because they are so....human. I mean, which of us wouldn't do the same thing if we were handed a pair of new binoculars?
