The numbers are in for Friday and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets earned an incredible $28.85 million at the box office.
The sequel has the fourth highest opening days of all time, trailing Spider-Man ($39.4M), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone ($32.3M) and Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones ($30.1M). The movie is also at #9 for the highest day at the box office, which is topped by Spidey's $43.6 million.
"The Sorcerer's Stone" earned more on its second day and that pattern is expected for this film as well.
We'll see tomorrow how the estimates turn out. I still think Chamber WON'T have the $90 million opening weekend that Sorcerer's Stone did, despite Chamber being in MORE theaters than Sorcerer's Stone.
