The movie 8 Mile is banned in my town(Gates) because Gates is already a pretty rough place. I think this is kinda stupid. I wanted to see it. lol

Who knows. They just thought that Gates was bad enough. The movie might have influenced more stuff

Influence what ? The movie didn't really Have anything negative about it in it. What other movies have been banned in your town ? Because if they banned 8-Mile their must be a whole bunch of movies you guys can't see.

Exactly....I don't even think they saw it before they banned it. I am surprised, because nothing else has been banned here. I'm pretty mad and surprised.

well we prob. will not get it in my home town, only one 99cent theatre and they will not want to show that movie I am sure for a whole week. Other things like Santa Clause II and Harry Potter that that would draw bigger crowds.

Your lucky I had to sit through that because of my girlfriend, believe me when I tell you this was all in your best interests. The acting (specially by eminem is absolutely horrible IMO and the fact that I hate rap doesn't help either.

If you like drama for the sake of drama...

Well I don't. I had to watch this with my sister, and it sucked.

My Interests lay in: Anime, Action, Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi, Suspense, Western, War... Pretty much everything except for this genre of angst-ridden-drama.

While I do apreciate Eminem's linguistic-lyrical abilities, I still think he's a punk thats about an inch away from jail.

(Just like my best friend's brother.)

Umm...yeah. It's been my experience that, no matter what the movie is, towns don't ban them. I'm sure some places in the so-called "Bible Belt" might, but I'm surprised to hear of a place in NY "banning" a movie. And this movie wasn't even particularly controversial.
