So, is anyone else here a DVD nut? There's a helluva lotta good stuff comin' out. Well, for pure enjoyment, here's my list of DVDs up to now:

Batman (1989), Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman: MOTP, Batman Beyond: The Movie, Batman Beyond: ROTJ, Superman The Movie, L.A. Confidental, Gossip, The Matrix, Austin Powers, Austin Powers 2, Final Destination, Blade, Ace Ventura, The Evil Dead Trilogy, Ninja Scroll, Titan A.E., X-Men The Movie, X-Men: The Phoenix Saga, Fight Club, Independence Day, The Mummy, Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien Resucrrection, Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Disturbing Behaviour, Mission: Impossible 2, Pitch Black, Gladiator, American Beauty, Charlies Angels, Me Myself & Irene, There's Something About Mary, Meet The Parents, Dinosaur, and MIB.

Who else has a big list-o-DVDs?

My old list, which I think I wrote up in December, is on the old archived boards somewhere, and trust me, you don't want to see the updated one! Suffice to say, I have enough! I have really slowed down buying DVDs tho, and I am being more selective about the ones I do buy that are coming out.

Recent aquisistions that I am proud of are the X Files 3rd Season Box set, the Star Blazers series, the Monty Python mammoth box set (and I got that one for a ridiculously low price!), and the Beastie Boys Criterion Collection DVD. There are others, of course, but I prefer to keep it short and simple. Meet the Parents is worth every penny as well.

If I had more money, I'd definitely be a DVD Nut. As of now, my list is very short, but hopefully it'll get much larger as time goes by. I use a program to list all my DVDs (even though I don't need it). It's more useful for people with huge lists. It lets you organize them and put them up on awebsite, which is much easier to manage.

Dick & calhoun - Both of you guys should go to DVD Profiler (http://www.dvdprofiler.com/) and download the free version of the program. I use it to keep a list of all my DVDs in one place.

If you want to check out my list, it's right here (http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mc.asp?alias=JediKnight)

Not really. I love DVD commentaries but unless it's really cheap or I am totally obsessed by the film, I'll tape it from the TV - or get very drunk.......

A DVD nut? Absolutely! I don't have a current count, but I know I have somewhere around 70-80 DVDs, most of them unwatched! Someday I'll get caught up....

I just got a DVD player this past Christmas, but upon the advice of a friend who has about 100 DVDs, I'm cautious before buying. From him I've learned to make sure you get the most Special Edition versian of your movies. Now some examples/current issues I'm working on:

-I've read a list of EVIL edits from Batman Forever that really would have been candy to lure Bat-fans into accepting the movie more than it had been (since it's overall feel was a tad too light). I already have a DVD of this movie because it was a gift from quite a while ago. But I wouldn't buy another unless those scenes were back in.

Next up on my list is Superman 2000, Happy Gilmore, and Mystery Men. Let the hunt continue!

I'd recommend ya get L.A. Confidential. Also, NEW LINE, a division of Time Warner & WB, is going to stop putting their movies in snapper cases with their next release, THIRTEEN DAYS. This is great news becuase Time Warner owns majority stock in the company that makes those snapper cases. So if one of their own divisions stop using them...could this begin a ripple effect? Please God...

i remember about 2 years ago, when "they" said that dvds were going to be very useless and pointless and be the next betamax.....

Yeah, when DVD drivers became first available I scrambled to get one. My friends didn't understand and said I was stupid, now they all own DVD players and (Of course!) say that its the greatest thing & deny they ever talked bad about it.

I have about 50 DVD, give or take a few, and some I haven't even watch the movie itself on the disc! Some of my favorites are: Fight Club, Clerks: Animated Series, JFK, & Army of Darkness.

Glad to hear Thirteen Days is keep case, I was planning on getting it:)
