I wonder if the "Disney Channel" or "Toon Disney" has any kind of major events celebrating the 100th Birthday anniversary of Walt Disney next month?

If they don't, it would be pretty screwed up on their parts....

If they do I hope they air a completely
UNCUT print of "Steamboat Willie" - but I doubt it!

I seriously doubt they're going to show shorts uncut if they show shorts. Disney is probably the most PC out of all the cartoons studios. I'm really not expecting anything great although you never know.

They'll probably do something. Since "Atlantis" bombed, "Walt's 100th" is going to be their big multimedia licensing campaign for the year....so surely there will be some programming scheduled, but I doubt anything really worthwhile.

IMO, this whole "Walt's 100th" ad campaign is really twisted. I don't mind the character birthday celebrations, or even the company anniversaries, but c'mon. Walt's not around anymore. It's a little morbid to start a whole licensing campaign and sell products based on this. (I am thinking of a real sick joke about this, but I will refrain from sharing)

I hope we do NOT see "Mel's 100th" in 2008 or "Chuck's 100th" in 2012.

But what if Chuck is still alive in 2012? Doesn't he deserve a celebration if he's still around?

I have a feeling I know how they'll celebrate his birthday. It's pretty well summed up by something Norm McDonald once said, which I'd like to paraphrase:

"Happy birthday, Walt! Hope ya like crap!"

I hope they do something good like air ALL of Mickey's shorts like they tried to do with "Its all about the shorts" bit actually show all of them!!!!

Or they could air all the animation "classics" from Snow white thro to Fantasia 2000?

I don't think it would be a good idea to air all of Walt's feature classics..... what they'd do to them before airing them would surely make Walt roll in his (cryo) grave!! ;)
