The Justice League Unlimited was just an updated version of the JLA created for BB. I don't believe that there has ever been a JLU comic.

There was another Justice League comic that you might be thinking of. That was Justice League Europe, a.k.a. Justice League International.

The JLU did appear in a two part story in Batman Beyond, the group included;
http://home.att.net/~l.perero/JLU.jpg
Superman not shown(Slitely older, and in a new costume)
Barda (instead of Wonder Woman, I think WB did not have the rights to use her in a show as yet?)
Aqua Girl the (unexplained heir to Aquaman)
War-Hawk (A fully armored heir of the Hawks)
Green Lantern (a young Buddhist like Lantern named Kairo)My favorite.
and Micron, not pictured above (A modern day Atom,)
The show involved the teams recruitment of Batman(Terry), against a surprising, and classic Silver Age villain form the comics, I wont say who, as it would spoil the show, and if you haven't seen I think it's worth tracking down.
The team also appeared in two issues of the Batman Beyond comic, the story featured a new Green lantern villain, and dealt with Kairo's origin and his personal struggle with his powers and convictions. Also recommended.
FYI; Kairo was the name of the Green Lantern (Hal Jordan's) side kick in the oldest (pre-Superfriends)JLA cartoons, This alien character had (unfortunately) a very unique way of getting around. Nonetheless I believe the name is a nod by Timm to the old shows.

Is it just me, or did any of you guys think Warhawk kicked ***** too? That would be ool if Warhawk turns out to be the future son of Hawkgirl.

I must say I also liked the Warhawk character. He kind of reminded me of a Wolverine type character. Warhawk didnt seem to back down from anybody, even the all powerful Superman when he thought he had gone bad. I'd like to see the team pop up again if possible maybe in a confrontation with The modern day Justice League.

WarHawk/Hawkman and Wolverine.
I also really enjoyed this incarnation of the Hawk mythos, and they have even more in common. Again referring to the Pre-Superfriends JLA cartoon; On this old but classic show (which predates wolverine by many years) Hawkman sported a mean pair of three blade silver claws. Which he'd often use to tear through spaceships, doors, robots...etc. They also featured some kind of powerful energy beam. It was probably dropped for the milder Superfriends cameos because of their violent nature. I can't remember if he wore it in the books, but it certainly gave him a stark and feral demeanor that I believe still rivals Wolverines.

Is it just me, or did Aquagirl look a lot like Dolphin from the comics?

I seem to remember this cartoon a little. Wasn't the show made up of Superman, Flash, Hawkman, Green Lantern and Atom?

Yes, These were all shows created by Filmation in the late 60's, before Hanna Barbera's Superfriends. It was not a team show, rather shows or episodes of individual characters.
Also by Filmation was Aquaman(with Aqualad, Mera, Giant sea Horses, Tusky...etc).
Bat Man (had Alfred, Gordon, Catwoman as well as many other rogues).
And later a couple of Teen Titans episodes, (Robin, Aqualad, Wondergirl, KidFlash and Speedy, a cool Titans Volcano lair and Jet/copter thingy).
I believe they also did Superboy.
The animation and stories were by no-means great, but the shows seem to ring truer to the comics of their time. While the later HB toons seem purposely dumbed down, despite how the comics were evolving.
