Hey, I heard on the radio this morning about a new book called "Jump the Shark". It's based on a website which has a listing of telivision shows, and it lets people decide when a show "Jumped the Shark".
the website is:
www.jumptheshark.com
So what does "Jump the Shark" mean? The creators of the website, (whom I heard on the radio) explained it this way: The creator and his friends got to talking a few years back about when there favorite shows started to suck. They maintain that every show reachs a point where all of sudden, you the viewer can say "It's all downhill from here". These creators got to talking about the old show Happy Days. There was apparently an episode where the Fonz went to the beach, and while riding on his water skies, he JUMPED OVER A SHARK! SO yeah, the show was all downhill from there.
So that's where the phrase comes from.
And I thought: Hey, this would be a great idea to discuss about cartoons! So at what point did your favorite cartoon start to suck?
Go check out the website to get some idea of what I'm talking about. They list a lot of cartoons on their index as well.
;)
