You all may remember this show from James L. Brooks, and now it's being (rarely) played on Comedy Central. Well, I would like to know....are there any good websites and in particular episodes guides? I'd like to get to know the show more, as I've re-discovered it and it is VERY hilarious. I'd appreciate any feedback...

I know....I've only watched four eppys so far, but they're great (especially Pikachu...). I remember watching the full half-hour eppys as a kid....they were good then....nice to see the shockwave.com eppys still have it.
Ya know, it's a pity it got cancelled...bah.

Go to www.fucinet.com and click on episode downloads, then Critic.
You can download episodes, see an episode guide, and more.

Yeah, I remember this. I liked it, actually, but it was a lot more serious than many of the other animated sitcoms at the time. It was actually pretty bleak at times...

Say....what did you guys think of the Simpsons/Critic crossover eppy? I know Gorening raised a big stink over it, but I thought it was clever. Of course, Jay meeting Marge's sisters and R. Wolfcaslte were Jay's best bits in the eppy.
Bleak....yeah, it was, now that I think about it. As for serious, well, anything that can do something like that yet still have comedy is good in my book! :D

I liked the cross over episode. Why did Groening have a problem with it?

If I remember correctly, Groening did not want The Simpsons' universe to be 'crossed over' at the time. He said publicicly that he didn't want any praise or criticism depending on how the crossover went (though it turned out it was very well recieved). Needless to say, it raised a big stink among the Simpsons producers, but they've gotten over it and Groening's more amicable to crossovers...see The Springfield Files and small Futurama/King of the Hill references.

Was there a cross-over episode where the Simpsons showed up on "The Critic"?

I think that there was one episode where the Simpsons did appear, but I think it was something like Jay was watching the Simpsons on TV. It was only for a few seconds.

Yeah it was something like that. But it was the episode where Geroldo interviewed celebreties and their mothers, and he did so with Jay and Eleanor. Jay said something over the heads of a non-cultured and average audiance so some guy watching (dressed like Homer, as part of the joke) switches to Homer getting hit by a rake.
Way back when I was looking for a website provider (still am) and a topic to dedicate it too (got that part) I was wondering if I should do a Critic website since I love the (sadly short lived) show so much. What I do is I search for OTHER sites to see if one by me would even be neccessary. I found this:
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/3894
It's called something like the Critic Home Page, Jay Sherman at large. It's really great. The site's creator is a huge John Lovitz fan, so that's where the site's idea came from.
It's got an above excellent sounds page with everything you could want. Even a music section, coincidentally similar to the small xoom.com Simpsons site I made a few years ago.
Try the URL, it's a great way to get a Critic fix.

You also forgot to mention that Bart was also standing next to Homer as well in that crossover.
There was a season 2 Critic episode where Jay and Alice dress like Homer and Marge.
Jay Sherman appeared on 2 Simpsons episodes, not one.

lol! And Jay wins the best costume for "bald gay man." That was good. I dunno if I'd call the Hurricain episode of the Simpsons a crossover. Jay was in it for one little gag. Although I'm sure it was easy to do as Mr. Lovitz provided voices for The Simpsons often. :)
