I can't really decide here. Jerry Beck gives out any info about classic cartoons (if he can) and Betty Cohen did give us a few Speedy Gonzales cartoons, and she DID try to get ALL of the BB cartoons on June Bugs (which is how she got fired, I think).

Hmm...
You forgot to include GAK in the poll! :D
Actually when I saw the title of the poll I thought it might be inspired by the CN spots which treat the cartoon characters as employees - like where Yogi Bear forgot his employee id and has problems getting past security etc...

I chose Jerry Beck. That wonderful man brought us the Toonheads Wartime Cartoons episode. Is Ted Turner racist? I thought he was the PC person and it was because of him that we couldn't see the rare PIC cartoons like BUGS BUNNY NIPS THE NIPS.

--is a hypocritical [expletive deleted] who one minute says Speedy will offend the Hispanics in the U.S. and the next coddles up to the ChiComs and calls Christians "fools" and "ash-heads".
Betty Cohen may well be considered our Joan of Arc-type martyr, burning at the stake for her beliefs...but Beck and G.A.K. deserve a nod as our men (presuming a lot) on the inside.
Most un-PC goodies are public domain anyway--my brother's got my tapes with stuff like "Porky's Ant" and "Daffy the Commando" on them, and I've got my eye on a few more goodies at Amazon when I have a few bucks in my pocket, like "All This and Wabbit Stew" or a few more war-era goodies....

I have to admit, it is a bit uncalled for for me to call Turner a bastard, I mean he hasn't done anything REAL bad. I just think he's a racist 'cause he'll cut a cartoon just because it has blacks in it. I mean don't you think that's a little awkward. Okay, some cartoons I have to admit like Jungle Jitters, they're a little over-doing it, but others like Coal Black aren't really that bad.

Had to go for the best...JERRY BECK
He has given us some great specials and the upcoming shows he's curently working on.Betty Cohen doesn't even belong on this poll, after what she did to the "June Bugs" marathon, she was given the decision to either present the censored 12 or not to air the cartoons, in which she pulled them at the very last minute, BAD MOVE.....
Mr.GAK should defitnely be on this poll...After all, he is a member of our TTTP family and he should be up there.

There are some people in the political world who are on your side, but you really, really wish they were on the other group's side. Such is probably the case with liberal Democrats and Ted Turner.
The ironic thing is as late as 1985, when Turner was spending his $2 billion to buy the MGM/UA film library, including the AAP Warner's and Popeye titles, he was considered a maverick conservative to the point that North Carolina Sen. Jesse Helms wanted ol' Ted to buy CBS and fire Dan Rather and all those liberal newscasters.
But in 1986, Ted discovered the international pull of Cable New Network, which made him a celebrity in spots around the world, including Cuba. Because CBS, NBC and ABC didn't have bureaus in Moscow, Ted cozied up to Fidel Castro to give CNN an advantage, and that began his turn towards liberal political correctness (liberal PC is when things are banned basically for their perceived racial and/or cultural insensativity; conservative PC is when things are banned for religious and/or language violations).
Between 1986 and 2000 Turner decided he liked being the maverick attacking things in the U.S. from the left instead of from the right, which included alleged racially insensative portrayals of Indians or Mexican characters in his cartoons. Ted knew that we had to rid America of this evil influence -- so long as it was someone else's work he was banning, not something he owned. CN may not be able to show "Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt," but Ted can do the tomahawk chop at Atlanta Braves games, and his WCW wrestling certainly had tons of stuff desinged to offend lots of people.
Turner's an incredible hypocrite and some of the hate-filled speech that has come out of his mouth over the past 25 years is far worse than anything any Warner Bros. cartoon has ever done (yes, even "Angel Puss"). Ted wins the miserable bastard award going away.
I chose Jerry Beck, he visits here, listens to us, and helps out on most all of CN's best programming.
