Well, looking up an online TV listings schedule for my local WB affiliate (WTTV-4, Bloomington-Indianapolis) reveals that Bullwinkle *is* surviving the change (woo-hoo!). The replacement shows for the now-departed KWB lineup include:
6:30 AM: Bullwinkle
7 AM: "City Guys" (description as follows, copied from the TV listing):
City Guys - New Kids
Type: Syndicated / Sitcom
Duration: 30 min
Description: Two teens, Jamal and Chris (Wesley Jonathan, Scott Whyte), develop a friendship but end up in trouble. (In Stereo)
Performers: Dion Basco, Steven Daniel, Marissa Dyan, Wesley Jonathan, Marcella Lowery, Caitlin Mowrey, Scott Whyte
Parental Rating: TV-Y7
Airing:
Mon 9/3/01  7:00am

No idea who makes this show or where it came from (sounds like an NBC show), but it's fulfilling the local affiliate's E/I requirement. To explain, the E/I requirement is one made of each individual *station* rather than the network, but since most affiliates don't want to be bothered with finding such shows to air, they've been letting their parent network do the work. Now that KWB morning shows are no more, the stations are apparently going to have to find their own E/I stuff to air 2.5 hours of the 3-hour requirement ("Rescue Heroes"' once a week airing on KWB would satisfy the final half-hour *and* allow the WB to claim they're "serving children's educational needs" in some clearly superficial way...).

Anyway, airing after this show at 7:30 will be reruns of "Sister, Sister"....interesting that another WB show was chosen to take up the programming slack (and that WTTV didn't take the easy way out and air infomercials/lame cartoons like they did years ago with that "Tex Avery" show)...and that they're keeping the Moose and Squirrel around! :-)

Meanwhile, over on the Disney side of things, looks like Disney's going the live-action route this fall for ABC with two Disney Channel imports:

Apparently getting the boot are the "Sabrina" animated series (without the parent show on ABC anymore, guess they don't need it anymore), "Doug" (moving to the Disney Channel IIRC; old age? It has been on the tube for about 10 years now...), and "Buzz Lightyear" (relegated to the UPN "One Too" weekday afternoon lineup; maybe it was considered too violent for ABC's Sat. morning lineup...dunno about what's in store for "One, Too" this fall for that matter [probably the same lineup as now]...).

"House of Mouse" (with new episodes) is staying on, though with its current timeslot unchanged, it'll probably get pre-empted mucho times this fall due to college football...

Just looked at the listings for Labor Day (the apparent day of the new fall lineup for Disney's One Too) for my local UPN affiliate (WNDY-TV 23, Marion-Indianapolis), and saw one change: Pepper Ann being bumped off in favor of "Legends of Tarzan".

Their weekday lineup, as follows:
3 PM: Sabrina the animated series
3:30 PM: Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
4 PM: Legends of Tarzan
4:30 PM: Recess

I'd assume the weekend lineup (which airs here on Sundays) would include this lineup of shows as well...

Recalls when WNDY was a WB affiliate and aired KWB shows (including their old "Indy 500" racing-themed logo/bumpers...now it's the blandly-named "UPN 23"....).

Well, lessee...

1): City Guys does hail from NBC. It's one of the shows they came up with to replace the cartoon lineups. Saved By the Bell I liked (even the new classes, all of them), Hang Time I might have been able to tolerate if I had ever actually watched it (the coach went from Dick Butkus to Reggie Theus, or vice versa), but htere's such a thing as too much. Pity people in executive positions in entertainment apparently don't know this.

2): I remember seeing tex avery (lower case to distinguish it from CN's Tex Avery) once, airing in the timeslot before Dr. Laura. I preferred Dr. Laura. I realize that it being me that's not saying much, but really, tex avery made me sick.

3): Doug is ten years old. I remember it debuted along with Rugrats & Ren & Stimpy.

You know, this whole thing is inspiring me to find out just who's involved with all cartoons, even the Canadian ones (no offense to the Canadians on the board). And I thot I'd been bad for reading the credits before; now, watch out.

Hm, I thought the Tarzan series was going to be a Toon Disney exclusive. This makes slightly more sense, though, and at the very least leans One Saturday Morning farther away from the "uninteresting kids in school" schtick.

But... a Mary-Kate and Ashley animated series? AAAAAAAUGH! Make it stop, make it stop!!

Actually, I'd assume it's to prop up a relatively stale "One Too" weekday afternoon lineup, and to give something newer than the year-old "Buzz Lightyear" ("Recess" is getting on in years, and Tarzan's replacing the apparently-less-than-popular "Pepper Ann"). Plus, maybe it's to give it more of an "action" oriented lineup/to have a purely action/"serious" program (vs. the half-action/half-comedic "Buzz") so it can compete against KWB/Fox Kids better...

Agreed re: the Olsen twins series...

The Olsen brats have an ANIMATED series?! (B.B. just stands there looking shocked silently. He then speaks....)

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Not only do they give twins a bad name, but they'll give animation a bad name as well....(sniff) I gotta go! (runs out of the room screaming)

So Pepper Ann's going....hm. Cannot imagine 1 Sat. Morning without it. Same goes for Recess, though I give that at least one more year on TV.
