Halloween Avatar Contest!

You've asked and you've wondered if it would ever come back... no, not your tax return. :p An avatar contest!

If you think you've got one of the spookiest, creepiest, or most original Halloween-themed avatars, then why not enter the contest? :D Here's a quick breakdown of the rules:

- If you would like to enter the contest, make a post in this thread. Tell us a bit about your avatar: where it came from, what you like about it, what did you use to make it, etc. If you have any questions about the contest, you may post them here too. Remember, entering this contest is purely voluntary. You don't have to participate if you don't want to.

- Entries will be recieved until Wednesday, Nov. 6th. At that point, I will lock the thread, and voting will begin. You do not have to enter the contest in order to vote.

- To vote, send me an e-mail (lilritadiva@o-tay.com) with the three posters in this thread who you think have the best avatars. Give the poster with the best avatar 3 votes, the second best 2 votes, and the third best 1 vote. Voting will end the night of Saturday, November 9th. Contest participants should leave their avatar up and unchanged until the 9th.

After the 9th, I'll tally up the votes (and I'll take my shoes off to count 'em, if I have to ;) ) and post the results. Have fun, and may the best avatar win!

My avatar is Ed from "Cowboy Bebop".
I got it from a promo picture for the Cowboy Bebop movie "Knockin' On Heaven's Door".
I like it because it's really cute and it fits the season. Besides, Ed rocks! :D
I used PicPerk to crop and resize the part of the picture that I wanted.

Cool! I didn't think we were going to get an avatar contest for Halloween! :D

I'm using an avatar of Alice Cooper, who is my favourite singer of all time, to celebrate Halloween. I think he and his music are very appropriate for this season.

The picture used for this avatar is from an acrylic painting by Michele E. Fusco named "Steven" (after one of the songs from his album Welcome to My Nightmare) - the image can be seen here (http://www.aceartist.com/alice.html).

Also, the title under my name comes from one of Alice's early songs, "Caught In A Dream," which is one of my favourites. You can read the lyrics here (http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/alicecooper/loveittodeath.html).

I'll Enter!

My avatar is the Fiend, the mascot of the hardcore horror-punk band the Misfits. The Misfits are one of my favorite bands, and nearly all of their songs sound like they'd fit right into a cheesy halloween horror movie. I used this avatar because it looks pretty creepy, and it just plain looks cool. I used plain old MSpaint to crop it and converted it into a jpg using adobe photo deluxe.

my avatar came from The official Mushroomhead website, and I used photoshop to singe out the guy's mask. (the whole pic was originally the guitarist playing his guitar on stage)

Basically, I took a pic of Spongebob, used MS Paint to get the color matched up right and to crop it, stuck it on a pumpkin pic, then used PhotoSuite4 to shrink it and convert it to a JPEG without eliminating the color (cause paint is stupid and can't do it without messing up the color :mad: :rolleyes: ). And...tada! PumpkinBob! Oh, and I added the background too...I'm so talented... :D

Actually, it's her daughter-in-law. :D Perdy was the mother in 101 Dalmations.... this doggy is the mother (to Domino, Oddball, etc) in 102 Dalmatys. ;)

Heehee, I'm gonna set up a little out-of-character theme due to my latest comic acquisition, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. Me likes, and I recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor, and a nice eye for existentialism, individuality, and... stuff. Oh, and having a strong stomache doesn't hurt.

And here is my halfway late entry for the Halloween Contest! I had a few other choices, but considering this is a PG board... darn.
