Does anyone know if there are anymore new PPG eps, or are they done with the show? It's been quite since we've had a new PPG ep. I'll be really sad if PPG were.....*gulp*.....cancelled. :( Ooh.....I don't even want to think about it.

There's more coming

-See Me, Feel Me, Gnome
-Deja View
-Documentary

Porbably more coming, start airing them around spring I heard. May be wrong, but they haven't cancelled the show.

The end of the 4th, a 5th season, and a Christmas special. None of which will be seen until 2003. Bah, humbug!

In case you haven't noticed, there was a movie and another season in 2002. It's not like the show faries can grant us with new episodes with the wave of the show wand.

I know. The networks want the episodes done quick, but quality takes time. Besides, we all know the shows are more appericated when we have to wait for them. Last month we had a new Courage episode EVER Friday....the buzz died pretty quick. So just check out the DVD and older episodes until next year. Also, if I may be so bold, find a new Cartoon Cartoon to get into. Variety is the spice (sugar & everything nice) of life. ;)

They've only just begun work on the episodes. Pre-production phase. Pitching storyboards and whatnot. I can't disclose what episodes they're actually working on, though.

Don't expect to see the new episodes until at LEAST spring of 2003. There will be 17 episodes (3 + 13 + Christmas special) to enjoy, once they're completed. That's twice as many episodes as the ones that premiered during the summer.

If you know that, then why do you even feel the need to post it here, this is called the "No more new PPG eps??" thread, not the "PPGs finally gone? Hooray!!" thread...

On to the topic, no new ppgs until the end of year? meh...
I don't care that much actually, everytime I see ppgs, it seems I have the good luck  of always seeing the same reruns over and over again that I got tired of watching PPG... just my darn good luck, I guess...

PS: Same thing also happens to me with Dexter's Lab... is it me or is Cartoons Cartoons scheming to not show new eps of my favorite CCF for me...

You're lucky they're even airing this early. They only just got back to work in July, and the original plan was to air episodes in the Spring of 2003.

Will those be full episodes or ten minute segments? The Deja-View ep sounds like something that could be stretched out for a full 20 minutes.

The seperately listed airdates gives me the impression they're all full-length eps. We'll find out for sure when they air- I am particularly looking forward to 'Deja View.'

Hey Matt,
You have any news as to what exactly will be changing in the jump to digital animation yet? McCracken, and yourself, has already said that the designs from the movie will be transferring to the show, but I remember you wondering if the damage is going to look as good as it did in the movie. I'm a lil curious about that one myself, I know that the design of the PPG's world is just the style they choose, but we know they're capable of some pretty awesome scenes. That Lucky Captain Rabbit King Nugget commercial blew me away. I'd hate to have to go from the kind of animation from the PPG movie, to a season 3 with different designs.

Anything?

I think what they're talking about is basically an analog vs. digital type thing. Rather than actually take individual pictures on one o' them multiplane camera thingies, they would scan everything into a computer, and be able to do more editing and finishing work than they would be able to do otherwise.

Things that this would mean for the show are basically smoother animation, more special effects such as computer-controlled crowd scenes and camera swings that were made popular by the disney films of the 80s.

You'll notice in the PPG movie the crowd of people when the monkeys were taking over. How there were so darn many people? For Hunchback of Notre Dame, Disney came up with some software that takes 12 different shaped animated characters and uses a randomizer to multiply them on a screen and paint them with different colors, thereby creating a huge crowd. They can then control the behavior of the crowd. I doubt they used Disney's version (I'm sure some other company has come out with something for smaller studios to use by now), but it appeares to be the same basic idea. Of course, if they drew that entire crowd by hand, then that's gotta be some kind of record. :D

I wonder if Waldo's in there.

I wouldn't be surprised if the ATHF make more cameos too. Hey, it worked for Dexter.
