The ONLY way to get an uncut copy, before Disney recalls their Fantasia DVD, is to find a 35mm or 16mm print made BEFORE 1967.

It was never released on CED (Although Disney released a ton of cartoon CED's!) and the only LaserDisc version is censored like the only VHS version like the only DVD version.

My uncle has a bootleg of the pre-1967 version which I will so distribute to those who have been screwed by Disney.

if so, what is its name/number (how to tell it from other dvd releases, if any)

DVD-to-VHS is easy

Speaking of which: Disney Lawyers!

I live in San Francisco, wherin resides a 1-person bakery. This baker, when asked to produce a cake for a child's birthday party, would, if requested, add images of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, et al.
The disney lawyers stopped by one day to inform her that, if she wished to keep her bakery, home, savings, etc., she would stop producing 'unauthorized' images of the mouse and company.

no, this is NOT urban legend - reported by the (ususally) respectable SF Chronical.

then there is the story about the Mattel lawyers looking for the source of the:

'Trailer Trash' Barbie
'Streetwalker' Barbie
'Drag Queen' Barbie (a Ken doll)

they were QUITE persistent...

Disney also forced day care centers in Florida to remove Disney characters from the walls. Disney goes overboard with these things.

It was not always this way. My mom's 1957 Niagara Falls High School yearbook was Disney-themed, with off-model drawings of Disney characters on the cover and almost every page.

I'd like to mention that Disney is determined to keep the original cut of Fantasia out of circulation.

They gave the Library of Congress spliced prints and the edited laserdisc.

Gee, they really care about film preservation, don't they?
