3 inch DVDs

I had heard that there were studios that were going to be putting titles out on the three inch format on DVD, mainly for shorter music titles, especially the ever increasingly popular DVD music video single, and some other titles. Yet, I was thinking to day, I have yet to see any of these on the shelf at Best Buy. Are they out there? I know Best Buy doesn't carry everything, so am I just missing them?

I've never heard of this...but let me throw in a personal opinion. I'm really not a fan of those discs though, they're okay for promotional material (I got one of the 3 inch CDs with a pair of pants once) but I really wouldn't want them as something I buy. Not to mention it wouldn't work in one of my DVD players, my PS2 is vertical :D

The GameCube is supposed to use similar sized media, perhaps then?

Nope, the Gamecube isn't designed to play consumer DVDs, period. True, the 3 inch DVDs would fit, but if they were to play them, they'd have to fork over the licensing fee to the DVD board, not to mention change the archetecture of the machine a bit (part of the reason the PS2 is a technical mess).
