If you read the Flip the Frog post, I suggested that TNN could air the Paramount and Terrytoon cartoons on weekend mornings. Here's your chance to sound off.

I don't think we should all flood TNN with calls at once, but over time, let's call them up, and tell them we want the Paramount cartoons. It is worth a shot.

While TNN certain has no idea right now what it wants to be -- A country channel? A rerun channel? Stock cars? Wrestling? -- to the point that airing classic cartoons on at least a Saturday or Sunday morning wouldn't seem like a bad idea, the fact that they're owned by Viacom probably works against it, since the execs would probably consider themselves counterprogramming against their own Nickelodeon channel (yes, I know the preschool stuff on Nick would be in no way a direct competition to Heckle & Jeckle or Betty Boop, but odds are they don't).

How about The Hallmark Channel (formerly known as Odyssey)? They seem to want to be a family friendly channel, it is currently filled with reruns of old TV shows and Hallmark's made-for-TV movies. I think a block of old cartoons could fit in.

Sounds like what I and a bunch of other racing fans went through with (Fox owned) FX a while back.

They appeared to be more interested in showing "M*A*S*H" and "90210" than live qualifying for the weekend's NASCAR race.

Hallmark at that time is reruns of "My Three Sons" and "I Dream of Jeannie"...which they also show on weekdays! Great idea!

And for J Lee...TNN are not out of the sports business, just the auto-racing business (tho they are being taken to court over the latter) That hunting and fishing {bleep} is not going away soon...

Of course the main sports announcer for TNN, Eli Gold, also does Alabama football on radio. But that's out of topic.

I didn't think of Hallmark.

If Hallmark is going to air cartoons, they're going to air the ones Hallmark owns-the Filmation back library. Fat Albert, He-Man, and She-Ra are all currently optioned to Odyssey/Hallmark, with the latter two likely to air once Mattel pushes out the new line next year. This doesn't even start to consider if the network has been optioned rights to the other Filmation shows that haven't been left to rot in someone else's vault.
