Yes my friends, the time has come to boycott a new series.
Why?
Check out my avatar. Ally McBeal. A show unlike anyother. A show I loved and still love dearly. A Series which was left to rot by it's creator - David E Kelly - while he went on to develop other two other series, all the while abandonning the one series which made him into a household name. Ally's 5th season was a train-wreck, jump-the-shark disaster. Not even hardcore fans, like myself, could find much to like about it. And then it was cancelled.
It is because of the lack of respect and devotion that Ally recieved in her final year that I now refuse to watch any other David E Kelly show.
Does this sound petty - of course. Should I be medicated? Maybe. All I know is that I became emotionally invested in a series whose creator left it for dead. The show was built up for four years, and then left in the hands of writers who had no clue how to treat the series. Ally will forever be remembered as the hit show that flopped, and that wasn't the legacy the series deserved. The actors did their best, the crew did their best...but the executive producer ditched them all for such startling successes as American Embassy and now Girls Club. I encourage you all to not let your devotion to a show be taken for granted. Don't let your emotions be used and forgotten by someone so capable of giving you more. Don't watch Girls Club. Let's send a message here - we haven't forgotten.
Please note that I do not hate David E Kelly, nor do I accept any responsibility for the legal consequences of this posting. If you like the show watch it ;) I'm never gonna!

I think the rest of the country is way ahead of you, though not for the reasons you want them to be.
This show should be terminated immediately.

This series won't last season. Heck, I doubt it will last until December. It got lower ratings then McBeal's last season, which were pretty bottom of the barrel. The negative reviews and poor ratings will do this series in.
Just an afterthought, the 'girls club' timeslot would be a great way to air 24 repeats...hint, hint...

Hey, I said "She-Spies" wouldn't last either. Same thing, three girls, save some kind of world. I think the idea is starting to do itself in. Charmed, Birds of Prey, etc. Scary stuff.
Later.

Ally McBeal was the best show ever, but that has nothing to do with this. This show is trash all on its own. I couldn't watch more than 5 minutes of the first episode...

I don't think Ally McBeal was the best show ever but the rest of that I can definetely agree with. Completely put off by this show.

It's a shame, this series. I hope it doesn't ruin Chyler Leigh's career, that is, if That 80's show hasn't already.

I have to differ with you on this statement...David E Kelley was a household name long before Ally McBeal..and Ally McBeal was not his best work. I much prefer L.A. Law, Picket Fences( which returns to TNN next week) and even Chicago Hope over Ally any day.

I didn't even bother watching it. The previews looked awful anyway. Glad it got canned. At least Boston Public is doing fairly good.

I hate the creator of all of those shows like girls club, alley mcbeal, and boston public. I think that all of those shows suck. I wish they all would(would have) gotten cancelled the first episode. I have much better shows to watch then them 3.

I have been spiteful.
David..you let something beautiful die, but I still shouldn't have wished ill upon your new series. I do hope, though, that you take a good hard look at what it was you had a year ago, and learn from what it was you let happen.
And for the love of God - Make an Ally Reunion Special!!!! Or at the very least, GET THOSE DOPES AT THE FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT DEPARTMENT TO RELEASE DVD SEASON SETS OF ALLY IS THE STATES AND CANADA!!!!
I'm done.

Fox to Rerun '24' Season Premier
Oct 31, 10:58 AM (ET)
NEW YORK (AP) - Fox has moved quickly to take advantage of the best-ever ratings for its sophomore drama "24."
The season-opening episode, which drew 13.5 million viewers on Tuesday night, will be rerun Monday at 9 p.m. ET. It fills the time slot that had been occupied by the David E. Kelley legal program "girls club," which was cancelled after two episodes.
The rerun was scheduled to fill that time slot for one week only, but could continue if it does well in the ratings.
The adventure show, starring Kiefer Sutherland, benefitted from strong reviews and word-of-mouth. Its season opener was delayed because of baseball broadcasts.
