In retrospect and if I were doing it now it would probably disturb my parents.

But I remember when I was a young buck in my tweens I used to really in to guns. I used to get books by the dozen from the library to learn any and everything I could about guns.

Loved movies with guns and loved knowing what guns they were using.

I asked for nothing but toy guns for Christmast one year and when I went to my buddy's place to go play I'd ask, "Hey, let's play guns!"

Not sure what that was all about, but in retrospect it was kinda weird..... fun as hell, but weird I guss. At least it would be in today's society.

What about you guys?

Star Trek. LOL!

No, seriously, my buddies and I had our own crew, our own starship designs and aliens and junk...

I also have a not so weird interest in learning all the martial arts I can! *looks for a new kung-fu sifu*

Security systems... for real.

I'd play with legos and build these elaborate complexes which the badguys would attempt to break into, and the good guys would defend.

Also, in school, when I doodled, I made these "underground bunkers" on my folders where each level (approx 1 standard rule line) would have security stuff, and labs and things, and when It was completed, I would Imagine... well, that the badguys would attempt to break into it, and the good guys would defend it.

These things would have Cameras, Laser sensors, Infrared alteration detection, pressure sensors...

And this carried over into my first job.

I worked in the Hardware department, (the only person in this huge wing of the old Collinsville Discount Center) And I'd lay out the displays in a way that ould be beneficial if Terrorists ever attempted to take over the store (in the middle of nowhere)

I mean, I had this place set up to repell a light infantry division. (Circular Saw Blades, and things to launch them with, Pesticide foggers & a biochem Respirator (this place was well stocked), Cordless Nail guns, etc.)

I was almost annoyed that no one ever tried to rob us. (Think Home Alone... just bloodier.)

But have no fear, I'm normal now.....

or am I? BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA Ha ha ha ha ...

ha

Hmmm... Guess I watched too many episode of "The A-Team, MacGuyver (sp?), Rescue rangers, and other things where the heroes would build contraptions.

"I love it when a plan comes together."

Sticker books. Because you know there is nothing more exciting than collecting and sharing your little precious pieces of colored sticky paper with friends and family.

Roller skating. Going to the roller skating rink every Friday after school was definitely the cool thing to do. But now, the thought of me wearing shoes with rubber wheels while trying to look cool as I skate to the tune of say...Lipps Inc's "Funky Town" -- well, it cracks me up.

Ah yes, there was this after school function called "Awanas" - it was the Christian equivalent of the Boyscouts. Well, you didn't know what you were getting into until you realized that instead of doing "fun" things like - learning to start a fire - you had to memorize scripture instead...or fear the flames of hell. I am sure this is something I wouldn't have done willingly - but determined Christian children could give Amway salesmen a run for their money. Shortly thereafter, I became a sinner (again).

Okay....you're probably gonna think I'm a dork or something, but I used to be clincially obsessed with New Kids On The Block (Yes.....Donnie, Danny, Jordan, Jon, and Joe  :p ) I was really in love with these guys. I had posters (all over my walls), buttons, a blanket, a pillow case, T-Shirts, water bottles, keychains, necklaces, earrings, cups, a beach towel, and even a watch. I even kept a scrapbook with magazine clippings (photos, articles, etc.), and all sorts of things about NKOTB. I have (still have) every cassette tape of the albums that they ever made....except the last one. I used to video tape every TV show that they were on. Even if it was only 5 mins. I have all three VHS videos they made.

And, yet, I only saw them once in concert live. It was in Giants Stadium (NJ) in the nose-bleed seats. They were horrible seats. NKOTB were just little specks on a tiny stage from those stupid seats. But, the concert tickets to see these in normal seats cost like a fortune. But, hey, I was obsessed. :D

Oh.....and my favorites were Donnie, Jordan and Jon. :D

Collecting rocks.

Oh, wait.......I'm *still* collecting rocks. Scratch that. :p

A true answer--which is probably, in a way, suitable for these forums--would be television. I used to like *everything* (I'd start on channel 2, watch until a commercial, then go to channel 3, watch until a commercial, etc. ;) ). I still get up early to watch :yakko:, :wakko:, and :dot:, at least :D! But other than that, I'd maybe watch one or two other shows. Television just doesn't really interest me anymore. {sighs and goes out to watch the grass grow :p }

NO FRELLIN' WAY! What girl WASN'T into NKOTB in the 90s? I had all that stuff too - water bottles, shirts, pins, earrings, beach towels, etc. That is so weird!

You know, I went to a New Kids concert there too - I think it rained towards the end of the night. My seats weren't that great either.

I was heavy into NKOTB too! I even had the doll of Joey. When I was little they were the absolute coolest group or thing anywhere. I knew all their songs, names, random info and god knows what else....*sigh* there are some moments in my past that scare me. Was into pogs too, they were kinda fun. Though when I think about it,well, the game was pretty stupid. But I was actually in a championship game at Disneyland when it was really big.

would you believe... company logos?

I'm serious. When I was a kid I would totally obsess over the logos that appeared on movies, videos, and TV, even to the point of watching the logos over and over and over again.

I still do this, actually. In fact, I'm a contributing, card-carrying member of Yahoo's Closing Logo Group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/closinglogogroup/) , and have contributed several descriptions and logo sightings. Check it out if you really want to. ;)

The Spice Girls-IT was so fun... I still have great memories from those days.

Chewing tissue. I know that sounds strange, but me and my friends would come over and chew on tissue. I don't know if any of you know this, but tissue has a really nice texture in your mouth. Not the lotion kind though *yuck*. And brown napkins were really good as well.

Believe it or not, I used to have a stamp and a bottlecap collection. (I was trying to emmulate Bert on SESAME STREET, apparently.) Believe it or not, I still have these collections stashed in my room somewhere.

Holy crap, you, too?!

It was a habit for me when I was twelve. I guess I did it because I was deprived of gum. *shrugs* In any case, it pissed my parents off. :D

I used to love hearts. I wanted everything with hearts on it: shirts, notebooks, pencils, anything. I also liked Lisa Frank sationary.

Well of course in my younger days I to had swoon issues over TNKOTB.
I myself owned every single one of the dolls, posters, clothes, tapes, even this cartoon thing they had about them in some far away country, and I forget which one was being forced to marry. God, those were sick days! ;)

Now, I'm sanely obsessed with Batman. :p

I also used to be able to wrap my legs around my head. Now all I can do is put my feet back behind my neck, but I don't often do this because it's an embarrassing way to get stuck. :D

You know, the hobby of eating tissue actually makes more sense to me than this.

Care to explain, HulkieD?

The music of Prince. I used to own every album, and would memorize all the song titles from each album in order as they appeared on each item and could write them down in order from memory. I lost interest after Grafiti Bridge, tho, and never really continued my interest in his music. Now DVDs are my main hobby.

I used to really be into heavy metal when I was about 14 or 15. And I kept a diary from the time I was around 11 until I was 17 or so, in which I used to write pages every day .
