Clark, either tell her what she wants to know or move to Metropolis already. You're making Lana nag now. She's right about you not sharing enough, but she's reminding you so much that now she's starting to get on my nerves instead of you.
What's the deal with the Clark bashing trend I'm seeing on Smallville posts?? I understand for most of you it's weird seeing the future Superman "hiding secrets about who he really is" and everything (cuz we've never seen him do THAT before), but I assumed that you all got the reasons why. Well it's seems some folks look like they need a refresher course so I'm devoting this thread to hashing it all out. :p
Lana gets to be mad at Clark because she doesn't know any better, but we DO! You think if he spills it's just gonna be forgive and forget time followed by the whole happily ever after montage? Remember what happened in the pilot? A humongous piece of his planet squashed her freakin' parents! :( I don't know about you, but somehow I'm thinking it's going to be kinda tough to just let that go, but hey as long as he doesn't have to lie anymore right?
And what's Clark supposed to do, disobey his parents trust so Lana can feel better that she revealed the earth shattering news about the new boyfriend Nell's got this week??.....come on now. The only reason he even told Pete was because he had no other choice. Just think about what'd happen if he did tell and some other crazy whacked out scientist or glory seeker found out Lana knew. Or lets say the news spread to the whole town. They'd linch him and his parents in a hot minute with Kypto-spiked baseball bats and liquid Krypto-caster oil (for fibing) for all the destruction and death they'd hold him responsible for.
Or what the world would do if they found out.....maybe seal and quarantine the town for starters, then mine the hell out of it to find every last piece of meteor rock they could leaving the earth raped and barren where nothing would be able to grow there again except ragweed leaving the townspeople disinfranchised and homeless with the young alien to blame......
What he should do is he should lie, lie, keep on lying, lie some more then cover it all up with better lies.
or.....
wait till she eventually finds out THEN tell her the truth....but that's just my opinion and I could be wrong.

He can't tell her, otherwise they'd have to cut it down from an hour to 30 minutes. ;)

The Smallville Lana has yet to figure out all there is to Clark Kent. Now I know he has to keep secrets, it's something he'll do for his whole life, and I've no problem seeing it in Smallville. In fact, I love seeing how he covers up what he does, it's rather fun from the teenage perspective. What's been bothering me lately though in how the story has gone about lately. Clark is obviously torn between figuring out if he should Lana or not, and what the reaction would be. And Lana is getting fed up because she knows there's something not right about Clark, and it's frustrating to have a close friend that's keeping secrets yet you always tell them everything. That's interesting and good material, and certainly have me interested in where it'll lead to. But it's just tiring after awhile of them having the same scenes between each other. I wouldn't mind seeing one episode where Lana didn't start attacking Clark again about his secrets and then dwell on it for a part of the entire episode.

I do want Clark to tell Lana, but only after Lana confronts him, because she actually figured out that Clark has superpowers and Clark had no other recourse. Hmm, actually, wasn't that how it worked in STAS. ;) However, I wouldn't mind them dragging it out a little while longer.

Be it now or later, Clark needs to tell Lana the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Like Failure said it probably won't be until he gets confronted by Miss Lang, but it will happen.
I said in the talkback that you can tell Lana is dang near begging Clark to tell her the whole truth so they can be together, but the young Kent is understandably hesitant to do so.
If he wants to be with Lana and it's obvious he does, she is going to have to know it all.

AND if she ends up getting hurt or her life put in danger because some other greedy Nixon or wacked out Dr. Hamilton found out what she knew.....well there's always Chloe! :D :D
See.....I just had to learn to look at the bright side of things like the rest of you
Thanks guys! :bosko:

I don't think he should tell someone he's in an uncertain, ambiguous relationship with. Plus Lana's little speechs about trust and honesty are getting on my nerves.

With how Pete reacted at first, I would give that a big no-no. I think Lana has becoming very annoying, with every episode ending on a note where she's like "Tell me or I'll be mad... Until you save me again, of course."
Frankly, he shouldn't tell her at all this season. I say drag it out, but please, cut down on her preaching. I have never given a friend this kind of treatment. It's not very nice, even if she feels a little bad about being kept in the dark about some things.

I agree (obviously) that they should drag it out a bit more, BUT they should find a more interesting way of doing it than the have been. The whole "tell the truth guilt trip" Lana has been using and the way they've had Clark respond is admitedly getting tiring to watch. They need to take it up a notch somehow in a more exciting way while still keeping the lie alive. ;)

Tell her already, Clark! She obviously cares and CAN hold a secret. She's not just some flake that can't be trusted.

Did anyone else notice the commercial for next weeks episode, where it said "Next week...the first of five new episodes." I'm thinking that this implies these 5 episodes are gonna be like a big mini-series or something....I wouldn't doubt that we finally get some answers here.
But yeah....it's a really good plot device, and it's good for this story. Buuuut....it's getting old here, because it's becoming every episode...yeesh. And I'm tired of seeing Lana make Clark feel like dirt. Such as the end of the last episode.
Clark: "What if the risk is to great?"
Lana: "You've got to be willing to take any risk."
I mean, c'mon. What would happen if Clark tells her "I'm the strongest man alive, super fast, shoot lasers from my eyes, I have X-Ray vision, sensitive hearing, bullets bounce off me like jelly beans, etc., etc.,"....dont you think, right now, Lana would feel like crap for making him feel so bad for THAT secret? It's not like he's just hiding feelings here. And if Lana accepts all this with a light little "wow"....I'll be upset. She deserves to feel like crap now...heh.

That's a really good point Jack. I could see something like that happening. It would put Lana more in shock than mad, which makes perfect sense based on how big this secret is.

I'm with Webryder, Clark should definitely not tell Lana.
Most importantly because its too dangerous. Lana is most definitely a flake that can't be trusted. Telling Pete was an unwise choice in my opinion. First time he's in danger he spills the beans about what he knows. Lana would be even worse. She'd probably ask Clark to use his powers ever 10 seconds.
She's also a flake. Just because she has to talk about her life every episode, doesn't mean Clark has to. Last season I got tired of her constantly talking about her "fairy princess with dead parents" complex. This season I'm tired of her talking about how Clark is too secretive. If Clark tells her, Next season I'll be tired of her talking about how weird it is knowing that Clark is an alien. All these kids grew up together, right? They know enough about each other, they can have a couple of secrets to themselves. Clark would be better off telling Lex Luthor of his powers than Lana Lang.

Lex Luthor? Now we don't wan't him to do that, or do we?
