I mean, we all know Flash runs fast but does anyone know his top speed?

In JL:TAS they never have actually said how fast he can go, he just says he is the Fastest Man Alive. Off the top of my head I would say (random number) 30MPH, I know he is much faster in the comics but JL:TAS weakened him.

I have heard that he can run at the speed of light but he probably doesn't cause who'd want to? you only to run fast to catch up besides if Flash ran at top speeds he'd mess up things liek run into something! besides he'd be terribly hungry after a jog like that! :D

On the animated series he is a whole lot faster than 30MPH, plus it hasn't nessasrily shown his top speed, but it's much more than thirty miles an hour. Sure, he's slower than he is in the comics maybe, but he's not that slow...that's only twice my speed!

Not a big expert on Flash, but I think it's MUCH more than 30MPH. Truck scene or no truck scene, I'm pretty sure he could outrun most vehicles if he really tried. So for the series my rough estimate is 150MPH...

And I know he can run the speed of light in the comics (at least Barry Allen could).

Well . . . I think Bruce Timm said this was "young Wally West, right after he's become the Flash", right? Something to that effect? And he's still in his "eating a metric ton of food to keep energized" phase . . .

If his speed in JL is parallel to that time period in the comics, his top speed would be about 700 mph, I think. Forget the truck scene. It looked to me like Wally wasn't going all out . . . he was having a great time chasing it. (What's the point of being the Fastest Man Alive if you're going so fast that no one SEES you stopping bad guys, right? ^_~)

In the Speed Demons episode of S:TAS, Flash and Superman were supposed to go around the world 100 times (or something like that). That is the closest I have ever seen to an estimate on Flash's speed.

Super fast. Hehe, how's that for vague? Well, regardless of any differences between the cartoon and comic Wally West/Flash, he can run pretty freaking fast. Beyond the speed of light and all that fun stuff. He can run so fast he enters what's known as the Speed Force, whence all speedsters get there powers. He's the most powerful Flash of them all for the fact that he can actually freely enter and exit the Speed Force. So think about the fastest speed you can fathom, and then triple it or something, and Flash can probably reach around there :p

Joe's the expert, but he once told me that The Flash (Wally) can actually travel through time WITHOUT the treadmill now. And he can actually connect with and manipulate the Speed Force somehow.

Yep that's right Guard. And I thought the treadmill was just some kinda fad or something I mean...it seemed like a random idea. Anyhoo, here are some links that discuss Flash and the Speed Force:

It can't be too fast because the wind would give him frostbite, thats why skydivers have to have there bodies completely covered.

The flash has an aura surronding his body that protects him from things like wind resistance and bugs. Anyway I doubt we'll see the Flash's top speed on the series because wouldn't he create sonic booms and such.

phfft... he's got the superpower to be immune to frostbite, cold no, frostbite yet. And wow you people can't sense sarcasm, it might be hard to read it, but the 30 mph was oh so blantintly obvious.

Sarcasm can be very hard to read since it's better as a spoken then a written art. I suggest, just for precautions and all, adding a little emoticon or somesuch so people who don't catch on right away will see that it was sarcasm. Anyhoo, I would like to see Flash go pretty fast, but I doubt we'll be seeing top speeds in the series. Though it was great to see him running fast around those evil demons in Knight of Shadows.

Probably the truck chase in "The Brave and the Bold" would not serve as a good example of Flash's top speed. There were some good moments:
1) Flash creates a whirlwind to save a couple from falling rubble.
2) Flash avoids a blast from the love-sick doctor and desassmbles the gun.

Other speed moments:
1) "Legends" Flash desassembles Luthor's robot and holds robot up with a tornado.
2) "Knight of Shadows" Flash aids Etrigan to stop warriors. He was a blur when he spinned to create a whirlwind.
3) "Paradise Lost" Flash twirls arms to deflect fire from serpent.
4) "Secret Origins" Flash outruns alien walkers' blasts and runs up skyscrapper. :)

The Flash's suit is composed of the Speed Force itself, if I remember.

in the comics yes, in the show, it doesn't really frickin matter anyway since it's a only a show/comic. I think it's kind of lame to have to explain every aspect of everything (like how does his costume hold up against such strong winds, or where does batman get his baterangs manufactured, ect.)

Exactly. Concerning those kinds things, well, there's just no point in wondering why this and why that. Just smile and nod and take it as "it just is". Otherwise, when you really start nitpicking cartoons, they're no longer as fun or enjoyable as they once were.

Another telling indicator was in "Secret Origins." When he and Gl first team up Flash is running on water. How fast do you have to be going to do that?

He runs on water practically most of the episode "speed demons" on SMTAS.Plus,in legends he warped space and time while running really fast to stop the robot from falling.

Maybe in the 2nd season, we'll see Batman flying the Bating at say Mach xx with Flash running along side him.

Just a thought.

It would be interesting to see how Flash would do alongside the PowerPuff Girls (who time traveled "50 years" in "Speed Demon" as a result of their flying at Warp). I'm sure Wonder Woman would wager on the Girls - they once helped her and the "old" Aquaman out in a Superfriends short.
