Happy Birthday Toon Zone!!
When Brian, Harl and myself decided to start Toon Zone three years ago, we were but a bunch of college kids, struggling to make ends meet... and look at us now... a bunch of adults trying to make ends meet... Why, I don't think I ever imagined Toon Zone would last to be at least 3 years old, but I'm certainly glad it has! We've grown leaps and bounds in those three years, but there's always so much more left to explore...
Here's to 3 great years... and here's to many, MANY more!
I'd also like to thank each and every one of you for making Toon Zone what it is today... we couldn't have done it without you guys!!! (I'll leave the personal thanks up to Craig... he likes doing stuff like that... it keeps him busy ;))

YEAH! Happy B-Day Toon Zone! Best Zone ever! :)
Celebrate, everyone! This is a great moment! Congrats, Harley, Colin, and Brian!
Happy aniversary TZ! Here's to 3 years running and many, many more years to come! Thanks Eileen, Brian and Colin for TZ. I remember when it was just Brian's WB Cartoons Page, Harl's comics and WBC and Colin's Schedule Page, before merging to form TZ. Wow, look how far TZ has come!

Congratulations on your third anniversary from Captain Caps. I know I never post here anymore, but I figured I'd take this time to say Congrats.
Among my recent activities, I've:
-been busy at 80sxchange.com,
-been fighting with my family
-managed to lose a friend over a mistake that I technically had nothing to do with
-been prepping for college
-still been working towards equality
-still seen Eminem everywhere (not that I'm bitter about the argument where everyone took Colin's side;) . [Sammy Davis Jr. Voice on) Colin, you're a kid. Love ya, babe:D [SDJ voice off)
-still been hoping my life will get better.
Enough about my personal problems. L'Chaim to this board, and here's to many more years. I'll drop by when I can, and I promise that one of these days, "Spaced-Out Warners" will be completed.:)
Sincerely,
John "Captain Caps" Kilduff

And now that little yellow duck from the old Tom and Jerry shorts will jump out of his ribboned box to sing for you. Or he would, but it seems the dog just ate him. :p
Anyway, I've been here since the beginning, or close to it (fall 1998, when Pokemon first appeared on KWB, Histeria was a Big Fat newborn Baby, I'd just begun grad school, Arkansas State University signed a much-debated exclusive contract with PepCo, and scandals continued to plague President Clinton midway through a second term. So I've seen a lot of water flow over the dam and watched this board grow and shed its shells like a hermit crab, and it's been great.
On Eminem: is he still around? I thought he'd gone the way of the Spice Girls and Hammer by now. I haven't watched MTV much, admittedly, since they dropped Daria and seem to run nothing but P. Diddy videos (who after Labor Day will change his name to "Herschel Q. Pfutzenreuter"--;) ) Road Rules, and wrestling.

Colin leaves the personal thanks up to me...I like doing stuff like that...it keeps me busy:
(I'll leave the personal thanks up to Craig... he likes doing stuff like that... it keeps him busy )
I'd like to thank Devon Thomas, for having started the Prodigy board--that far-off, mystical land in the distant past, that I've only heard of in lullabyes, but that led to us having this wonderful Board here today.
I'd also like to thank our very own Harley, who's been supremely ruling the world (or at least, her own dizzyingly complicated quadrant of it) for the past many years, leading our modest little site into bold new territory, and never giving up on her motley flock of Toonsters. Let's hear it for Dedication Personified, folks!
Next I'll thank Brian Cruz, whose Schedules page was the portal that led me and so many others to this delightful little oasis in the first place. He professes to be as lazy as I am, but while he talks big, he never ceases to disappoint me in this regard. From his schedules to "The Early Years" to the DVDs page--everything he does is the best of its kind. Absolutely disgraceful.
Romey, of course...one of the earliest posts I can recall reading by Romey was about a bizarre dream he'd had combining A!'s "Ragamuffins" short with The X-Files movie. That should have been my cue to stay as far away from him as I could, but I never could take a hint. Romey has persisted in being a loyal, stalwart, utterly devoted friend, no matter how much I beg him to leave me alone.
Gookie, who remains one of the most scrupulous, dedicated perfectionists I've had the pleasure of working with. If you ever spot a News article by Gookie that isn't good, rest assured that by the end of the night, it will be.
A shout goes out to the Mad Hatter, an all-around pleasant guy. Somewhat cynical (who isn't?), but always cheerful, always accepting. Plus he laughs at my jokes.
Brainatra, for being an almost constant presence on these Boards from the Sears stage of his life on, always there to lighten things up with some cutting satire. Sharklady, also, for her many contributions here over the years (particularly the "edgy" nights ;). Also to both of them, for not killing me multiple times over by now.
The Siren, just for being a fun, great individual, and for originating the idea of the chain link fanfic all that time ago.
Jon, Dick, Jeff, the Archivist, Eric, and ToonZone's other partners-in-crime, for the great effort they so obviously put into their respective sites.
And to all our other posters...Danielle, for being both intelligent *and* silly (a deadly combination); Captain Caps, for being, as Nick Carraway once told the Great Jay Gatsby, worth the whole damn bunch; E. Penrose, for humoring me, recommending films, discussing random things, and just being a generally nice person when she hardly had to be; DR. BELCH, for telling us many entertaining stories about women; Narfpinky, for being a good sport and a downright likable human being--er, mouse!; Nftnat, for the times he humored me, the times he pitied me, and particularly the time he made up that shot of a scantily-clad comic-book babe for my birthday; the Freeman children, who I believe look in on the Board on occasion (hiya, kiddies!); don jaime, for letting us be there for him in a tough time, and sticking around afterward, too; Vince, for being a genuine pleasure to work with, chat with, and joke with; Psycho Fox, for having a cool screenname; Perry White, for being me; Peter Sellers, for Being There; Orson Welles, for his remarkable cameo appearance on Brian's avatar this week; and the original Erin Brokovitch, because Julia Roberts forgot her.
Least, but certainly not last, I would like to thank my good friend Colin Feder, who was gracious enough to let me deliver this ridiculously long "thank-you" speech! My heart goes out to you, Colin. But bring it back when you're finished with it. And wash it off this time!
Finally, I would like to thank my family, my friends, my cat, Harley's cat, the little people, Darby O'Gill, the big people, the skinny people, the fat people, the Village People, the people who need people, The People Vs. Larry Flint, and the People That Time Forgot, but not the People That I Forgot.
Thanks, folks! None of this could've happened without viewers like you. And we're only $7,960,543 short of reaching our goal of $9 million! Remember, if you pledge $25 now, you'll get this lovely bamboo umbrella with the ToonZone logo on it! If you pledge $50, you'll get your choice of cassette or CD of Craig's Most Listenable Hits!, including "Get Dancin'" and "The Hippie Hippie Shake"! If you pledge $100, you'll get a VHS of our intriguing and poignant documentary on the life of Roger Clinton. And if you pledge $200, you can have your very own Brainatra! He'll amuse the kiddies with his wacky Big Cartoonie Show parody-titles! He'll complain audibly while you watch NBC sitcoms! He'll be glad to get out of Indiana!
So don't delay, send us money!

Um, what are you talking about, Craig? My knowledge of computerizationisms is sadly lacking, I'll have you know. But I guess this is one of times to humor you, or is it to pity you?
Wow, what I miss only being able to be on here during the aftenoon-evenings; I had no idea that the big anniversary was here; was it even on the calendar? Yup, it was. Remind me to wish Sveven Dvorking a happy birthday com Monday.
Anyway, I remember the time I discovered this place. It was October 1999. I had re-discovered Warner cartoons earlier that year & was tearing about the net like mad, searching for more fanfiction on A! & TTA, as well as skeds for my favorite shows. Well, I found Colin's schedules page, which led me to Brian's toonzone page. After a time I figured I might as well check out the forum, & my life hasn't been the same since. I read all the posts on the story board --- it took me all of February 2000 --- then I headed over to this place, or its predecessor on the old boards, rather. I think the first post I made was to call attention to that rather tender scene between Dot & that Dennis Hopper character, man! The one toward the end of Wakko's Wish. Romey advised me against starting that rumor, which imo still makes more sense than some of the stories I've read around the net about Yakko & Wakko. Soon after that, I was the first to call attention to TTA's 10th Anniversary, Psycho Fox responded, & it was off to the races. It's been great having toonzone around. For the past year plus, y'all have made this then-newbie feel like one of the family, a feeling I've tried to pass on when someone new comes here. Brian Harley & Colin did good putting this thing together. Securing alliances with other web posts have been quite the coup; I had been a member in good standing of Termite Terrace & a devotee of Eric42's old TTA sites before the toonzone connections became obvious. The fanfics which have been bestowed on us by Craig, Romey, Colin, Danielle, Sharklady, Brainatra, Caps, Belchie, Siren, beepbeep (which Matthew Hunter went by @ the time), donJaime, & such figures of the past as DanielleB, the Cute One, mattman, & Flaminchicken; y'all've been the best! We can always count on Craig or Romey for those useless posts, Sharklady for some cogent commentary on all things nature-related, Brainatra for DC Comics info & rips on Family Guy, Belchie to get me into trouble in those flame wars, Captain Caps to out-'80's me (I'm coming back to 80sxchange, my friend), Hatter for that Arkansas connection, Danielle for those hard questions & recent bouts of insanity, the Archivist & Gookie & Dick Grayson to bring us the latest news from the toon people, NarfPinky to just be a nice guy (which nobody will deny), PennyCat to bring in the Mouse, NarfCake to bring in insider info like the latest update on his t-shirt collection, none of which would've been possible without toonzone. On this August 24th, & every August 24th in the future, I will take a moment to pay tribute to toonzone, my main source for WBA talk. Long may it continue!

Oh, I'm sorry! I was thinking of gfoyle, the other guy with the funny-spelled name (who appears to have vanished over the past few months). A thousand pardons. Well, at least two.
Anyhow...g'wan and pity me. You're good at that.
I'd also like to take the moment to thank Robert for all of his wonderful fanfics, and for informing me that "Brainwashed" is on this weekend! Sorry for snubbing you in the initial post, Robert...it's just that you haven't been around much, and.....
And, I'm no good with memory stuff, but I *THINK* this Board has actually been around longer than ToonZone itself has (TZ being the joining of all Harl, Brian, & Colin's sites under one banner name). Because I specficially recall arriving here for the first time in July 1998 (with the red type face / colorful background).

I think I first came here in the fall of 1997 when THE NEW BATMAN ADVEBTURES first hit the airwaves, and when I first got online. I was fortunate enough to miss the online onsalught of BATMAN & ROBIN. I can remember it was either I and Romey (maybe Gookie) that got into a looong discussion and a long thread (which I was impersonated in by a different poster). I pretty much a main stay from there on in. This is such a great place, and the changes it's been though have improved it every time.

You are correct sir, This board pre-dates anything web-related the Brian, Harl & I have ever done... this board stems back to the ol' Prodigy service, back in the year of 1994... (yes, it's not just a year you'll hear about in history class, kiddies, it really did happen! Honest! I wouldn't make this stuff up!) When Prodigy announced that they were gonna do some nasty stuff and Harl didn't like it, she set out to move the WBC to the WWW...so, if you wanna get technical, the WBC is over 7 years old now, while Toon Zone is but a toddler of 3 years old...

I know, thanks for remembering me, but it would be forgivable since I haven't been dropping by much, seeing as if there's not much to talk about here and I've been spending a lot of time on the Histeria board{hey, do yourself a favor and check out a new fic I posted there that spoofs Saturday Night Live}Oh, and I'm not so sure they'll be showing Brainwashed tonight though, they've been showing previews for the "As told by Ginger" show for the 8 PM time slot for days, no mention of Brainwashed, though I did see commercials for it last weekend. That would be the final straw for Nick.
Anyway, happy very belated B-Day toonzone, and I'll see you later, now I'm off on one final New Jersey vacation.

Yes, so I see that on tvguide.com (although TV-Now and several other sites still list "Brainwashed"). Since TVG is usually the most up-to-date, though, it doesn't look too promising. Which would stink, because "Brainwashed Part One" is one of the two or three episodes that I'm *STILL* waiting for a decent copy of (my only copy is EP and off my old staticky antenna feed).
Anyway, happy very belated B-Day toonzone, and I'll see you later, now I'm off on one final New Jersey vacation.
And I'll be off for a week tomorrow morning, so I may as well say an early goodbye!

I remember *my* first-ever post here. It was a speculation about the identity of the 'Flashlight Man', as we used to call the mysterious pursuer in the opening credits of PE&tB (now, of course, we call him Wally Faust.)
In case anyone's been wondering where I've been lately: I just came back from a glass-crafters convention in Allentown, PA. I picked up a lot of useful information, a number of free samples, and a writing assignment. 'Glass Craftsman' magazine wants me to do an article about buying glass on a budget (something I know a *lot* about.) And this is for pay, no less! I'll let you guys know how that works out.
Happy Anniversary, Toonzone!
