Does anyone here have an uncut (with the suicide bit) copy of Martian Through Georgia? I remember seeing it when I was a kid (in the mid-80's), so I assume it's floating around somewhere.

I'm not exactly positive, but I THINK I have it from Jon, but I may be thinking of another cartoon.

(bangs head repeatedly on wall)

I DID have it (Not from Jon- Shock Horror!) from a late night Check Jones show. The next week I recorded another episode, but accidentally taped over the one with Martian Through Georgia on. I didn't mind at the time, but now I find out you could've had it.....OOOOHHHH!

I must say, that cartoon (the uncut version) is very hard to catch.

It was shown uncut in the UK? But you also get Tom & Jerry (most of them) uncut, too. Lucky. I heard Norman Normal played there too. That must be cool.

I have seen 1 Looney Tunes cartoon over here that has been edited. This is 'Confederate Honey'

Yes, they do show 'Martian Through Georgia' uncut and they also show many cartoons that Cartoon Network USA doesn't have the rights to. Another Froggy Evening, The Pink Panther, stuff like that.

Normal Normal has been shown only once (And I missed it. :( ), but it could play again soon. Oh yes, and they show the uncut 'Skyscraper Caper' loads of times- they must like it, it's the second most overplayed cartoon at the moment.

I have two 'Bugs Bunny's Censored 12' on tape as well. 'A Feather In His Hare' is in great condition but I accidentally put the VCR on to Long Play, mucking up the sound. I also have the uncut Frigid Hare, but about 15 seconds in the middle is missing due to the channel suddenly changing for no reason.

I've got a few pictures of censored scenes on my computer at the moment for Jon Cooke's censored cartoons page- they are amazing quality, even if I say so myself.
Hang on, I'm bragging-oops! I always get carried away when someone asks me about this.....

Thanks, all41 ... Teletoon's print of MTG doesn't have the pistol-to-head bit.

This cartoon looks like a warm-up for "Now Hear This" and the 'modern' opening/closing titles. Note the orange asterisk which appears when the Martian 'deflates' his would-be lover.

In case anyone was curious, I got my uncut print from the out-of-print video: Night at the Movies: The Days of Wine & Roses from Warner Home Video.

I bought one of those videos because I wanted The Daffy Duckeroo (and I also like the feature) but the print of the feature is inferior, and the cartoon wasn't on the tape!

That's from Cartoon Network UK, isn't it? ;) The logo is in the top right hand corner.

So that's what the original scene looked like. On CN (and Nickelodeon, ABC, and WB), they would freeze-frame the shot of the Martin holding his ears, then cut to when the Martian finds out that he's happier in space than on Earth.

I haven't seen that bit, so I don't have an idea.
