I recently bought a Canopus ADVC100 media converter (analog to digital). It captures transfers data to the computer (Mac) via firewire.
I have Premiere 5.1 and it is not recgnizing that I have anything connected to my firewire port.
1) Is it that Adobe Premiere 5.1 does not support firewire capture? or
2) That I need to purchase a specific firewire video capture card and install it?
I've read that the Premiere 6 and up does have firewire capture ability (if memory serves. Me that is, not my Mac). But will I still need a new card? And if so, can anyone recommend a decent firewire capture card for the Mac? Nothing too expensive. This is a hobby, not a career. :)
Thanks.
