I had braces when I was in the 8th grade. I had mine for about a 1.5 years.

Hey, congrats on the de-bracing of the face, Meatwad! I've never had them myself - but I have had to wear a mouthguard to prevent grinding (of the teeth) so I guess that sorta counts.

I had braces for about 2 1/2 years. And boy was it all worth it, I love how straight and almost perfect they are! I got them on I think the summer of my 8th grade year or something, all the way into my Junior year or so. Sometimes it was a pain, but really, I'm glad I had them and all. I was so weird when I was little, because when my older sis got hers, I was literally begging for ages to get some as well. Congrats on getting yours off soon meatwad! If you wanna whiten them or anything and you're not going to get it done by the orthodontist while you're there, I really recommend Plus White. You going to have a retainer at all? Thankfully I only have to wear mine at night.

Yup....and for the second time, too. The first were taken off early.....thanks a lot, Mr. Orthodontist-Person! :p

Nope. Never had braces. Heck, I've never even had a cavity (thank god, I hate going to the dentist!).

Perfect teeth... see ? :D
The only thing like braces I've ever worn have been glasses. Matter of fact, I should probably still be wearing them, but eye drops sting !

Cool! I'm getting mine off next Friday! Let us both rejoice in this joyous occasion!
HOORAY!
I had them for 1 and 7/8 years.

My doc said I may need a retainer. What's that?

I had them for 4 miserable years, but got them off last spring. Braces suck.

I never had them and I will hopefully never need them. I am glad to hear you getting yours removed. It must feel weird with out them when they come off. :D

Wow! So many former braces wearers! Next, we'll have a "false teeth" thread.
I am wearing my retainers as I write this, BTW.
Had them put on in 6th grade and got them off at the end of my 8th grade year. Have been metal free for three years.
Still have to wear a retainer. Still have to get my wisdom teeth pulled out. (all four at the same time. And on Thanksgiving weekend, oh no! )

I used to have braces when I was a freshman in high school. They were taken off about a year later. My bottom row is slightly crooked now because I neglected to get my wisdom teeth pulled out. Reason being I didn't understand why I needed my wisdom teeth out if they weren't bothering me until a friend told me they crowd my straightened teeth and make them crooked. By then it was too late. :)

I have Invisaline, they work like braces but they are clear and removable when I need to eat.

I had braces for two years and got them off in the 10th grade. I hated wearing them and am glad their off. I am supposed to be wearing a retainer, but I don't.

I am suposed to be getting some but I refuse. My teeth are straight and perfect it's just that they won't come together completely but I never smile with my teeth anyway so I see it as a waste of time and discomfort. I want those invisaline braces but I dunno if they'll help.

When I had braces, I didn't think they hurt that much. I couldn't figure out what all my friends were complaing about.

I got mine at the ripe old age of 28. I'll have them on for about another 8 months. In December I'm having surgery on my jaw to bring it forward because I have a bad overbite. I hate them beyond words!

I had them on from 6th to 8th grade.
*shows off his straightened, shiny white teeth* :D
Seriously, they weren't bad. They hurt a bit when you first get them on (or whenever the orthodontist re-adjusts them), but you get used to them fairly quickly.
I almost got braces, but last time at my orphadontist (how do you spell it) he said that my teeth straighten out by themselves. I got lucky. :D
Besides, I don't think that Trollans need braces. ;)
