Did CN really have to ban this cartoon? Couldn't they have easily censored the beginning with the black slaves picking cotton and just showed the cartoon like that?

When FOX used to broadcast "Merrie Melodies" during the 1990's, this cartoon was part of its package and they edited out the cotton-pickin' cotton picking scene where Bugs was placed in a sack, bundled with the cotton & pushed up the gangplank of the riverboat. The cartoon began when the gangplank went up and the purser announced all of the riverboat stops. When viewers saw Bugs appearing and pulling cotton out of his mouth, I'm sure they were quite confused.

I'm with you. I find nothing offensive with it. Same goes for the Charlie Dog cartoon "Dog Gone South". This cartoon was on network TV for years! Now it just seems to have disappeared....

OH, BELVEDERE!! COME HERE, BOY!!!!
