Well, I haven't been around, cause my computer's barely alive. On Tuesday evening after downloading an FTP Client..my comp. crashed. Big time.
Aparently the client messed up my computer's registry, so now it won't boot. It recomends I run the DOS Program scanreg but that crashes. When attempting to restore from my Win 98 CD - So that I wouldn't have to format - I get a scandisk error saying I have an illegal long-filename, run scandisk for windows.
Needless to say, I'm unhappy. So i goto the campus bookstore, pay $110 for XP-Pro, only to find that the CD enclosed, is transparent. They neglected to add the shiny foil/lable to it, so there's no info etc. It was the only copy the bookstore had. I got a refund.
That was yesterday. Today, one of my mom's co-worker's daughters goes to a school down the road - LA Tech. The plan is, she bought the software, when she gets back to Monroe, they'll call me, I'll go over, give them a check, and get the software.
So I MIGHT have a computer tonight....
In other news, I'll be gone this weekend. Going to Shreveport for the Synagogue's 100 year anniversary. And to meet Leonard Nimoy who's the guest of honor.
