Word is that "Turok Evolution" was a massive flop-ola for Acclaim. They were banking the Holiday shopping season on this dinosaur turd, but gamers aren't buying. Supposedly top retailers have already shipped back truckloads of unsold units. Could another E.T. (Atari 2600) style landfill debacle be in Acclaim's future? There's always "BMX XXX"..

I see why Turok Evolution is a Flop. My brother has it and the controls are horrible using the analong sticks on the controller to move forward and any direction and the left one to look up and down I think played it once never did bother getting past the first level I got bored that quick. and the game play is not that great either.
I would like to see Acclaim do a landfill full of Turok Evolution disc's laying around. hey that would be cool driving a what you call that thing that has a huge rolling pin thing sort of like the front end of the Flintstones car but without the backend over a landfill full of sucky games
:D :D

Damn. I was going to buy it if my mom would let me. The Gaming Magazines seem to like it.

This just goes to show that no amount of odd promotions, like the man in line for weeks in the UK, or paying people to change their names to "Turok," can make up for a mediocre game.
(Note: I haven't played the game yet. I'm basing the "mediocre" comment on what I've read about it and what I've seen of it. If that's unfair, then I apologize.)
I think it's biggest problem was the fact that it's essentially more of the same, and most people have grown tired of the franchise.

It's an "okay" game at best, but the shooting controls and flying levels are horrid.
