View Full Version : Another weird dream for all of you......

Here's a dream that I had last night.
This is my first dream about the message boards.
I'm just driving around, in my good 'ol 1992 Nissan Maxima. Just driving around for a joy ride. I drive to this house and ring the doorbell. And then DickGrayson answers the door. I say "You ready to drive, James?" and he's like "Lets roll!". And we go back to the car and I keep on driving. I forget how I pictured you. And then we keep on driving, I don't even say anything. We pull up to another place, and then I see the beach and then I say, "We must be in Shoreline!! Lets go pick up RD! So we pull up to a red shingled house (we were talking about her house before for some reason). And then I see her and she jumps into the car. Then we drive around more, and drive to Nightwing's house. We pick him up and then pick up BudnLou, SilveKnight and Maxie Zeuss at their houses. Then we're at my house and we're all sitting at my computer and looking at the message boards! We're all posting gibberish but we're having a fun time.
I forget how I pictured all of you. Now is that a weird dream or what?!?!

I'm honored to have left a mark on someone's subconscious. But how can I blame you? I guess it can be attributed to my buckets and buckets of charisma; I'm bound to leave a lasting impression on you people.. *starts to flip hair nonchalantly, then stops at the sound of laughing and looks around*
ahem...Anyway, I feel left out..I've never had a dream about the boards. :O(
Lately I've been having nightmares of my brother trying to kill me. Most recently, he tried to blast me with a shotgun while I tried pitifully to hide behind the sofa, occassionally trying to push it into him.
Oh, and all my "driving dreams" are nightmares. I don't know how to drive. :O) The car always feels too big for me, and I'm usually crashing into everything. I'm often trying to escape from something, but I'm not doing a good job of it...in the dream, I mean....I don't run people down in real life..*nervous chuckle*

interesting dream there Inque..very interesting....
I have yet to have a dream about these boards..I may have..I Just don't remember. I do remember this one dream, where I was like 8, and I was driving this van, and since I didn't know how to drive, I was going like 100mph..w/ these cops chasing me..and all of that gibberish...and it always ended w/ me in the woods, about to go over the bridge, when I "find" the brakes.....
Anyway... I'll let you guys know if I have a dream about it these boards..

You are lucky to find the breaks, Bird Boy! I remember having my car fall off the bridge....yet I would fall off the bridge.
But what was scary was that I would wake up then, but still, for a split second, still feel like I'm falling....though I am still on the bed.
Another point, though it's when I'm KINDA concious (though barely, but enough too still think properly): Sometimes, I feel like I'm on ice when I'm on my bed and have to move around to keep my balance! Yet I am still concious enough to know this is NOT a dream and I'm in a horizontal position; not standing upwards on ice! Trust me, it sounds weird....but it is true....anyone have those feelings that you're still in the midst of action from a dream, though you've just woken up? For that matter, does anyone have an inkling as to what I am saying...?

Man, all these wild dreams about the boards! I gotta eat me some pizza before I go to bed, I guess.

Can't say I've ever dreamt about these boards...but you mentioned driving dreams, and that put me in mind of another dream I had in college. I thought the elevator dream was a witch with a b, but this one actually had me awakening in a cold sweat with my heart pounding like a kettledrum.
I was in a van...not in the driver's seat, but tied up in the back--inexplicably. Don't know who bound me or put me in the vehicle, and don't know who was driving. I don't believe anyone was driving, in fact--the buggardly wheel was moving on its own, as if being remote-controlled at some distance.
I'm impossibly trussed up and the van is accelerating beneath me. I figure I can at least wriggle my way to the cab and somehow take control of the wheel--either by hand or or by foot or my bloody teeth if need be. So I try to crawl forward. At first I think it's inertia pushing me back, as the van is speeding up gradually and must be going--65? 75? 80? Bugger me if I know, but I'm wondering how good the road is and whether or not I'm going to go hurtling off a cliff or into a guardrail/tree/phone pole befor I commandeer the wheel.
As I said, I thought it was the force of the vehicle's movement pulling me back--but I realize it's actually hte van itself, defying all known laws of physics and getting longer...and faster. The more I move the worse it gets--the cab and controls don't get any closer to me. I remember screaming How long can this last? I'm bound to frigging run out of road or hit something soon before waking.
Now...the elevator dream I discussed before was heading into some life-changing event...the van dream, after. It told me that I was terrified as to where I was going in life and that I was losing control, just trapped and restrained watching the hand of God grab everything I loved and not letting me be master of my own fate. I was angry and fearful and did things at this point I'm not proud of, though oddly not totally sorry for, in my attempt to rebuild my life and regain the control that had been forced from me.
I think everyone will agree that the bitter feelings in my waking hours were magnified and brought to life in my sleeping ones.

When I was a kid, I had a night mare about riding in the car with my family and the car went into a lake and we drowned. For years after that, I hated it every time we drove by a lake.
Another nightmare I had as a kid that affected me for a long time was a real short one. It involved a ghost running out of my closet and making these loud noises with his feet as he ran. He had on a hat, like one of those hats you'd see Harry wear on Night Court, and these big boots that clomped as he ran. Sounds funny, I guess, but it terrified the beejezus out of me, especially when the ghost dissappeared thru the opposite wall. I woke up screaming, my mom came in to see what was wrong. That was the first night mare I had that I remember. I must have been in the first or second grade at the time, and for years after that, I could not sleep with the closet door open. I made my mom shut it every night, or I would close it myself. It was years...even into high school, before I could stand to have the closet open while I slept.

I don't remember the last nightmare I had. I used to be able to do what's called "lucid dreaming" quite often. It's when you're dreaming and you realize it's dreaming. Once you realize you're dreaming, you remember that everything is in your control and you can change things. Like if a monster is chasing you, you turn it into a bunny. Or if you're cornered by an ax murderer, you smash open a conveniently placed window that wasn't there before. I loved it. I flew a lot. And smashed windows a lot. But I can't seem to do it anymore :(

So THAT'S what that type of dreaming (lucid) is called! I loved it when I could do it as well....it was nice to make yourself the hero of the world, or go drive recklessly while making sure nothing ever happened to you...
....I probably have done it recently, but I have not remembered any dreams for the longest time.... :( If I remembered any, I ask for them to be interpreted...

Well, even when I knew I was in a dream, I had no control over it. No matter what was chasing me I couldn't do anything about it. I would try to imagine a weapon and it would appear, I would then try to use it but it would vanish or it wouldn't do anything.
One time I did beat one of my dreams, but then something came up behind me and got me. I had a dream that involed this, it took place while I was on this board, but I'll get into it tomorow.
Do my dreams have something againest me or what?

I don't know about lucid dreams, but has anyone ever had a dream that they swore up and down was real, only to wake up and find out it wasn't?
I had a dream some time ago that I was at home, getting ready to go to class. That was IT! Nothing distorted, nothing scary, nobody different in my house - it was almost exactly like reality. And while I was dreaming, I could have sworn I was awake, really getting ready for the day. Until I woke up. "This day better be worth getting up twice for," I grumbled.
How boring is that?

Don'cha just hate it when those dreams happen? I remember any dream involving school was not a happy one, since I do not look upon school with much fondness, yet I'd have to face that bad dream in reality once I got up...

I swore my dream of the board was real. When I woke up, I was like "Wait a minute... I'm not allowed to log off the board! Or am I? I don't remember... better check"
Here's a couple more dream random facts: they say you can't read in dreams, because reading is supposedly a "left-brain" skill, whereas dreaming takes place in the "right-brain". There's also a rumor that if you die in your dream, you die in real life, but that's so not true.

I've read in dreams before! Lotsa times! I like reading in dreams because it offers me something new to read! :D
And we do die eventually....so that fact on us dying in real life after we die in a dream has truth to it! :p

I did once, at least I think so. In this dream, some friends and I were up in this little treetop village, or something like that. What was really funny - and gets even funnier later - is that Paul Hogan was our tour guide. Why him, I don't know. I didn't even like the guy that much then, and had only seen Crocodile Dundee once. Oh well. In any case, somehow I got separated from the tour group and wandered into this one little tree house with a bed and some rudimentary furniture. There, I found Mr. Hogan's diary. How I knew that, I don't remember. Nor do I remember the contents of the diary. (Sorry! It was too long ago!) But at least I woke up right before the group found me! :D
Yet another strange one, eh?
(Hurray! One more post and I lose the Newbie status!)

A few weeks before school starts, I always start having dreams about school, and they're always really weird. In a dream I had recently I arrived a period late on the first day of school, but no one really seemed to care. Then I had to go around the school (which looked absolutely nothing like my real school) trying to find my schedule or where I was supposed to be. Then I wandered into this big round room which somehow I knew was French class (I don't even take French). The seats were in a semi-circle and stadium style (with each row a little higher than the last one) and were all metal and very futuristic looking. Anyway, for some reason I sat down in the very uncomfortable seats (I was on the top row and kept sliding towards the edge near a long drop to the floor) and started to listen to the teacher explain what we were going to do this year. The teacher was standing at a high podium in the center of the semi-circle of seats. That's all I can really remember...anyone who knows anything about dreams have any idea what this means?

Yes, I have had the dreams I swore were real, too. Some of them are quite realistic.
Anybody here ever wake up from a dream, and think they are awake, only to discover later they are still dreaming? That's happened to me once or twice, but not too often.

I think I have woken up too when I am still dreaming....by that time, I am in a lucid state, and I WANNA get up! I keep trying to wake up, but I cannot muster the energy...
....coincedently, the dream goes down REAL fast from that point....

One more question, then I think I am done! For now anyway, you all keep on making me think of new stuff....
Have you ever been in one of those realistic dreams and you wanted to bring something in that dream with you into your waking state? You knew it was a dream, you knew you were going to wake up, but you did not want it to end, so you grab some kind of object of desire in the dream, and hope with all your might that it is with you when you wake up? Yeah, I've done that now and then. I'd probably FREAK OUT if it ever worked, tho!!!

Here's a "has this ever happened to you" for you all...
Several times, back when I was working late at restaurants, I would have nights where I had to work really hard. Then I would get home and collapse in bed... and start dreaming I was still working! That's some of the least restful sleep I've ever had.

Yeah, I think that might be pretty common, actually.
