Canada finally has its MTV. Calgary's Craig Broadcast Systems and MTV Networks announced Tuesday a joint venture to launch three new digital channels, including MTV Canada, in the Great White North Sept. 7. The other channels will be TV Land Canada and an unnamed MTV sister station devoted to videos. MTV, the world's most famous music video network, already reaches 353 million households in 140 countries.

I know! And the Canuck MTV will suck. We can already bet on that. Muchmusic is just so much better becuase for the simple reasons they play videos.

Yeah, American MTV sucks, also. I saw something that surprised me a whole lot on it a few days ago. I think they called it a "music video." Apparently there was a little bit of spare time between "The Real World" and "Road Rules."

If they start playing music videos before 3 am in the morning...I'll be suprised.

well... I can certainly say Canadians have nothing to rejoice for..MTV is nothing but crap...mindless-mindnumbing crap... crap crap crap....just pure crap.....did I mention it's crap?

In other words..I don't like MTV.. :D

I agree the American MTV really sucks because of all that Real World crap. Over here in Europe, I enjoy watching MTV 2 Pop because they play music vids 24/7, no Road Rules stuff ect..

But do you have to pay for MTV on your cable provider? I'd demand a better station if that was the case.

We got MTV2 on sattellite and it is a joy, and it closely resembles what Muchmusic is. Muchmusic plays videos alot, about 21 hours a day. They even have days dedicated to themes like:

Most laughably bad videos
Cheap videos
Expensive Videos
Break-Out Videos
News Music
Local music,
etc...

You finally have my interest perked about it. Is Much music available on satellite? Yeah, I am still teetering on whether or not I want to get satellite TV. If I could get that Canadian cartoon channel, muchmusic, and some others I've heard about and am interested in, I would seek a way to get it. But I don't think they are on Direct TV.

Muchmusic is just a great overall channel. Our VJs are coprorate lackeys like a certain Carson Daly. And they'r enot fake. They're real actual people and now some contruction to make the channel hip.

Actually, I think Real World and Road Rules are the only good reasons to watch MTV anymore. Speaking of which, Nicole is really annoying me. I used to like her up until a couple episodes ago.
