I've often wondered about how other people felt about this..
Do you prefer the Old, Completely Insane Daffy Duck, or the "New" Cynical Cranky Daffy Duck?

We just had a thread like this called "The Preferred Daffy," it must be on the 4th or 5th page by now, but about 2/3 of voters preferred earlier Daffy.

Oh well, once again I voted for nutty Daffy.

He appeared in way to many truly great cartoons. Then again, your interpretation of "old Daffy" may be different from mine. I'm assuming you mean the one that lasted into the early 50s, not just the early early Daffy of the very late 30s?

But anyway, how can you top:

The Great Piggy Bank Robbery
Plane Daffy
Scrap Happy Daffy
You Were Never Duckier
Cracked Quack
Daffy Duck Slept Here
Tick Tock Tuckered
Baby Bottleneck
The Birth of a Notion
The Scarlet Pumpernickel
Ain't That Ducky
Rabbit Fire
Porky Pig's Feat
You Ought to Be in Pictures
The Daffy Doc
Daffy Dilly
Riff Raffy Daffy
Mexican Joyride
Book Revue
A Pest in the House
Tom Turk and Daffy
Wise Quackers
Golden yeggs
His Bitter half
Holliday for Drumsticks
Hollywood Daffy
The henpecked Duck
What Makes Daffy Duck?
The Stupor Salesman
Thumb Fun
Boobs in the Woods
Daffy Doodles
Daffy Duck Hunt

Heck, the later Daffy didn't even appear in as many cartoons as I have listed above...

Not that later Daffy didn't have his moments. Rabbit Fire is sort of a hybrid, and the rest of the Hunting Trillogy was great, as was Duck Amuck, Beanstalk Bunny, Person to Bunny, and a few others.

It's deja vu all over again.

Old, insane, looney Daffy. It's mostly for the cartoons themselves, but also because the other version does not fit his name.

Semi-quote from Joshua (you know, of Biblical fame) "As for me and my house... we love Daffy both ways!!" ;) :)

Hmmmm to have made a name befitting the later version would require a change to something like "Malicious Mallard" (though he's not a Mallard) orrrr how about "Cranky, Constipated Canard" ?? :D :D ;)

Sorry too tempting to resist... ;)

Yeah, that was a thread I started. It's all good though. I think this poll is important enough to be brought up again and again for those who may have missed voting on it in the past.

I dunno, I'm sort of getting tired of constantly saying what Daffy I prefer and having to defend him. It wasn't even until I got into the history of WB cartoons that I found out about the "two Daffies." He was either daffy, toned down but still daffy, or out of character. Maybe I'll just go back to thinking of him that way.
