How Many episodes?

I saw "Justice League" for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. I'm just
now getting back into toons after ignoring them for many years. I saw the two parter
"Legends" and was wondering how many total episodes have been done up to
this point. Also, are there recommended vhs/dvd compilations to catch back episodes
on? Thanks for your help.

There's only been one season of 26 episodes so far. It started in November 2001 and the first 17 episodes aired between then and May 2002; there was a hiatus from June up to September when the remaining 9 episodes began airing. The second season is supposed to kick off in late November with 26 new episodes.

All of the episodes for the first season are multiparters. The series premiere "Secret Origins" (which is the only story arc available on VHS/DVD so far) was a 3-parter, and the upcoming first season finale "The Savage Time" is a 3-parter as well. All of the episodes in between are two-parters. For the second season, all episodes will be two-parters.

Here's a breakdown so far of the first season, with episode numbers and titles:

1/2/3 - Secret Origins
4/5 - In Blackest Night
6/7 - The Enemy Below
8/9 - Injustice For All
10/11 - Paradise Lost
12/13 - War World
14/15 - The Brave and the Bold
16/17 - Fury
18/19 - Legends
20/21 - A Knight of Shadows
22/23 - Metamorphosis (only part 1 has aired so far, part two is scheduled for Friday the 11th)
24/25/26 - The Savage Time (hasn't aired yet, but is scheduled for November 9th and will air as a 90-minute TV movie instead of being split into 3 episodes)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it got bumped up from Dec 7 to Nov 9. I think it was confirmed on TZ's news page somewhere.
