With all the trivia going on, I thought hey why not make one for the animated comics. If you've been to the previous trivias you know the rules you can post questions about:
Batman: Gotham Adventures
The Lost Years
Batman Beyond (Regular Series)
Batman Beyond (Mini-Series)
The Batman Adventures
Batman & Robin Adventures
Superman Adventures
Gotham Girls
Any specials/annuals.
Here's the first question to get you all going:
How many issues has Superman guest-starred in B:GA/TBA/B&RA

2?

Jut had to pop in here to say, nice idea BBF! Though it won't be a thread I'll almost never touch, don't read the animated comics as much as I should :p , but there are a lot of other posters that do. The Batman/Superman/Beyond Trivia Thread covered the animated comics, but rarely had those kinds of question asked, seperating it means we can focus entirely on the cartoons and animated movies in that thread now.

I think the answer is three.

Let's see...Superman guest appearances in the animated comics...
-BATMAN ADVENTURES #25
-BATMAN: GOTHAM ADVENTURES #36
I think that's it. Methinks Peterparker is right.
Unless...are we counting annuals?

Actually, Superman (in his Clark Kent persona) also had a cameo in Batman & Robin Adventures Annual #2. That would make the correct answer 3.
And an FYI - Superman's appearance in The Batman Adventures #25 is not an in continuity story. The story was basically erased when World's Finest aired.

Ok well since the all-knowing Jim Harvey approved tht I was indeed correct. Here's the next question (Super Easy)
Who was the villain in Batman Beyond (Regular Series) Issue #18
TimTwoFace
10-06-2002, 04:52 PM
The villain(s) in issue #18 of BATMAN BEYOND (the regular series) were the Stalker and Blight.
OK, here's one...name all the writers that have written an issue of BATMAN: GOTHAM ADVENTURES, as of Issue #53 (Poison Ivy issue). There are six.

Name all the villains that appeared (Not mentioned, actually drawn in) in Batman : Gotham Adventures #53 (Pages 7-8)
Batman's Biggest Fan

Joker
Two-Face
Poison Ivy

These are all the villains: Ventriloquist/Scarface, Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, Joker, and Harley Quinn. I guess you're counting Arnold and his dummy as two, huh? :)
My turn! My turn!
Name all the villains that appear in the first animated comic to win both the Harvey and Eisner awards for the best single issue comic of the year. There are six.
-Tim
Cyber E.
10-08-2002, 11:04 AM
Since I havn't the slightest clue what you mean by the award. I'll just guess six villains.
Catwoman
Joker
Harley Quinn
Two Face
Mr. Freeze
The Penguin
Any of them right?
TimTwoFace
10-08-2002, 01:01 PM
Three of them are, three of them aren't.
The Harvey and/or Eisner awards are awarded to comics every year (kinda like Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, etc), and one of the categories is for "best single issue comic." You need to know the first (and possibly only) animated comic book to win both these awards in the same year before you can answer it. :)
-Tim

Well, Tim, I assume you're referring to MAD LOVE, which means the villains in question are the Joker, Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Two-Face, The Riddler, and Poison Ivy.
Here's one:
In all the issues of BATMAN: GOTHAM ADVENTURES that I've drawn, there's one villain who has appeared in regular "continuity" several times, but never once in costume. Who is it?
As an aside, this character will appear in costume in issue #60!

Well, besides you correctly pointing out that Man-Bat was wearing pants, it was Craig Rousseau who lent his considerable talents to that issue.
Let me try to make this a bit easier: Which major villain has appeared four different times in B:GA comics that I drew, but never once in costume? I did indeed start with #15, and the villain in question was not, I repeat, not naked at any point -- just clothed in something other than the usual, colourful garb.
Anyone?

Uhhh, in that case, I'll say the Joker - he's only appeared in Issue #31 during your time at BGA. All other times he's been in his Arkham uniform (except on the cover of BGA#45, but that was by Darwyn Cooke, I believe).

Well done! The only exception was issue #37, in which the Joker did appear in costume, but only in Batman's dream, and in a different art style, to boot!
Anyway, he'll finally cast aside the Arkham duds, slippers and all, and don his familiar purple suit in the upcoming 60th issue!
So, Tim, did I get the answer to your question right or not?!

I'm pretty sure you did. The last softcover reprint of that one shot has "Harvey Award Winner" and "Eisner Award Winner" plastered on the back cover. Mad Love took home alot of awards and featured the villians you listed. And to my recollection, no issue of the regular comic series has featured all those villians at once. Batman Beyond had 24, Superman Adventures had 66, Batman Adventures had 36, Batman & Robin Adventures had 25, Gotham Adentures will have 60 (not counting specials or annuals) .
Also, NO Justice League Adventures talk. That is the for 'Justice League' Board, NOT here. This is for Batman, Superman, and Batman Beyond. No Justice League.

Hey Jim, didn't you forget Gotham Girls (5) and Batman Beyond : Mini Series (6)??
TimTwoFace
10-11-2002, 01:35 AM
The GOTHAM GIRLS and LOST YEARS don't count because they're technically entities unto their own. They're mini-series, and that's different than an arc. Ditto for the original 6-issue BATMAN BEYOND miniseries. Besides, they weren't part of the initial 36-issue BATMAN ADVENTURES title. :D
And this concludes our rushed history lesson.

Quiz & Query, I believe. They appeared in Batman & Robin Adventures #3.
(Fun fact: these hench-women transferred over to Detective Comics for a three issue Riddler arc. I believe the issues were #708 - 710).
Kelley Puckett wrote both issues #23 (of TBA) and #24 (of TBRA) and both featured mentions to Acachiano. To my knowledge, this place was to act as a sort of refuge for Ivy. A place where she could finally be alone with her plants. And yes, it was supposed to be expanded on, but those plans have since expired. I wish I knew what they were becuase youcouldtell something was being built. And I bet it was going to happen, but then DC cancelled the series (there were even scripts done much furthur past #25) so they could quickly tie into the new animated series. 'The Lost Years' mini-series was a rush job, mostly done to give the 'Gotham Adventures' creastive team time to get some stories in the can before the relaunch. The animated comics relaunches were done with the motiviation of money.

Dang straight, and I never liked how they did that. Sure, a title change made sense when the animated series was altered a little bit, but I do not like how they're always relaunching and starting with issue #1 over and over again.

Not really. I didn't see any rules stating such. The point of these threads is to provide a challenge. The person putting up the thread can tell which series it's from or not, but they are not required to. Believe it or not, but the difficulty of the question is part of the fun here. I personally have no problem with The Electric Knight's question, and I doubt anyone else does either.
If it is indeed difficult, then he can simply provide a clue to help them along. His question is perfectly valid.

Hmmm....
Let's approach this on a logical basis. The name sounds a little cheesy (like Brad Bradly for example, or Paula Peltman  ) and Scott Peterson tended to use these types of names, I think, during his Gotham Adventures run - though I'm not saying that as a put down....someone else may have written the issue, but this is my guess.
Now, the question is in how many of Peterson's Gotham Adventures stories were several people kidnapped? Off the top of my head, the Ra's Al Ghul story fits that profile...and since the name does sound like the name of a rich guy...I'll make that my official guess.
DisneyBoy's first guess:
Derek Dekker was kidnapped by Ra's Al Ghul so that his amount of oil would either be taken over by Ra's or left in the ground - both options which would plunge the modern world into an economic crisis, since oil is of such high value, and is needed to run cars and other machinery.
:)
I may be wrong, but I don't wanna hafta re-read all my issues to figure it out. (crosses fingers!)
The Electric Knight
10-21-2002, 03:08 AM
You're right about one of your assumptions, yep, Derek is rich. However, he wasn't drawn by Levins or written by Peterson. Also, think "less-known villain"... ;)
Another tidbit, if this helps...Burchett inked the issue, but didn't pencil.
And my apologies, he was actually one of four kidnapped, though one of them isn't the type to get kidnapped.
DisneyBoy
10-21-2002, 09:33 AM
:p "...isn't the type to get kidnapped.."
Like there is a "type"! Anyways, hmmm...thanks for the Burchett hint, because otherwise we'd have nothing else to work with. Still, hasn't Burchett been inking everything from The Batman Adventures to Gotham Adventures? That's a lot of issues....
EUREKA!!!! Derek Derrek - AHA!!! I know the answer!!! I know the answer!!!
You clever Electric Knight, you!
May I?
:D Derek Derrek was kidnapped by.....
 Oh no!!! I don't remember WHY he was kidnapped!!!
Ok, I'll just guess...I hope I get this right! :o
Derek Derrek was kidnapped by Anarky for having committed what he considered "crimes against humanity"....do I really need to be more specific? Ok, ok! I'll try: Derek was responsible for selling landmines, which were, of course, used to cripple innocents.
:o Oh-so-close! Arggghh!!!! I'm not sure the second part is right, but I guess I'll just go with it!
(nervously bites nails)
The Electric Knight
10-21-2002, 10:00 PM
Yep, that's specific enough! :) Congrats.
I love that issue with Anarky! Derek owned a chemical plant, he was kidnapped along with Bruce Wayne, and two other millionaires for Anarky's television stunt.
Take it away DB..

Man, I am completely stumped. The only thing that comes to mind is GL Issue #154. >_<
Is it a male to male or female to female? It doesn't seem like something they would put in the Adventure Comics.

Animated comics, not the regular comics. This trvia is for the animated comics alone, which include Batman Adventures, Batman & Robin Adventures, Gotham Adventures, Batman Beyond, Superman Adventures, and any relating mini-series, specials, or annuals.

I know Jim, I was just telling that I only know of one happening of a homosexual kiss. I wasn't guessing GL#154 I was just saying it is an odd kind of thing DC would do (Not to mention the ANIMATED comics, I would think they would be even more parental wise then any other).

Since no one else is gonna answer this, I guess I will. This so kiss happened in The Batman Adventures #28 when Harley, dressed up like an Einstein-esque doctor, kissed the Joker.
I'll just wait for DisneyBoy to give me the okay before I proceed with my question...

We Have A Winnah!!!
Yup, Harley did indeed impersonate a male Doctor "Heimlich" in order to get close to her puddin' for the Holidays. Awwww :D Being the naive kid I was, I never even realized that the Herrr Doktor was Harley, even though Kelly Puckett had made it clear from the start. So when the Doctor started going on about "those eyes....those lips...I...", I was totally shocked! It's kinda funny, in retrospect, cause I was so surprised when Harley turned back around and calmly said "Vvvahhht?" :p Waitago Jim! Something told me that you knew the answer to this one...

You're right, it was in Issue #23! All the promotions said it was in Northern Canada, but the issue never actually mentioned that. Oh jeez...
Batman Adventures #13 - Talia and Batman kiss on the cover, and inside, in a house on fire.
Batman Adventures #36 - Catwoman pecks Batman on a rooftop at the end.
Batman & Robin Adventures #10 - Talia gives Batman a good-luck kiss before he goes to defeat Al Ghul.
Batman & Robin Adventures #16 - Catwoman pecks him on the cheek after he realises it was only Catman stealing things, not her.
Adventures in the DC Universe #3 - in the small Dini/Timm backup, Ivy comes and hijacks a party-boat Bruce Wayne is on, and he has to defeat her whilst "under the influence".
I missed most of the Batman Adventures issues unfortunately so I know I'm missing some (I have a feeling he was kissed in issues 21 and 23..)

Nope, went and checked that one ;). Barbara and Bruce didn't kiss in #51..matter of fact I can't recall any Gotham Adventures issue where Batman kisses someone. I didn't buy much of the Peterson run, so I could be missing something though. I also checked #33 of Batman Adventures, none there either..
Does the comic adaptation of Mask of the Phantasm count? Or World's Finest? I don't have either but surely they would have a panel showing Bruce kissing Andrea/Lois..

Nope, ionglkyle and Tim. You're both just a little off the mark. If it helps any, part of Montoya's first words with Batgirl are "Commissioner Gordon keeps a file on you" or something to that effect, and the meeting is completely overshadowed by the events taking place in the issue.
That should help move things along. ;)

DisneyBoy,
tough questions are good questions - don't worry about it! And since I don't have time to go through my comics (seeing as how they're about 90 minutes away from me), I'm gonna guess Batman & Robin Adventures #21, the issue where Batgirl has to save her dad from the Riddler.

Jim Harvey, the all seeing and all knowing, has indeed answered the question correctly! After Bullock warns Barbara to stay out of the investigation, he and Montoya wait by the Batsignal, only for Batgirl to show up. Bullock nearly arrests her (after all the multiple Robin trouble some issues back) but Montoya steps in, saying that Gordon has her on file.
"This town's crawlin' wit them!"

AH! The recent one is Apollo's Coffee House featured in Gotham Girls #3. I just remembered it. Is that one of the answers EK?
The Electric Knight
11-14-2002, 06:28 PM
Yep, you're correct Venom!
The other one I was hinting at was Mr Weenie, a drive through hotdog place that appeared in Batman Adventures #33.
Take it away...

well since I got only one right and can't think of anything right now I'll pass my question to DisneyBoy (That is ofcourse if I didn't misread Electric Knights post way off)

How generous - a going away gift~ :p For once, I'll keep it simple:
What was the name of Hugo Strange's son?
;) See y'all on Monday!!!
M'ral

Pretty sure it was David. But since I'm new to this game (and hence, just a little bit unsure of myself), I'll double check before posting a new question.
M'ral
11-15-2002, 12:30 AM
Okay, I checked, and it was indeed David. So, next question...
Who/what was Kristov, and in what issue did it/he/she appear?
TimTwoFace
11-15-2002, 01:58 AM
...Kristov was the baby Batman took under his *ahem* wing (or cape?) in BGA#26...I think.
I'll wait for M'ral to get back to me on this one.

Oh um Mad Love?
M'ral

Hmmm...Two possibilities (that should make you happy, Tim!):
1) Didn't see this one in BATMAN ANIMATED, but I seem to recall seeing in the BLACK & WHITEs a Timm-style story involving Two-Face (actually, I think it was a "cured" Harvey Dent) and two women, twins of course, who if I remember correctly ended up dead. It was a rather dark and somewhat disturbing story, but I only saw it that once, so I don't remember it very well.
2) I caught the other possibility while flipping through BATMAN ANIMATED looking for that Two-Face one. It was a Harley & Ivy story in which the villainous vixens go to check out the filming of a big Hollywood movie based on their life story. The title was "Hooray for Harleywood!" According to the caption, it was a "DC Comics limited series", whatever that means.
Either of these ring a bell?

M'ral, your first guess is correct! We just need a title now!
And thanks to Jim Harvey, methinks that the comic actually appeared in BATMAN: MASTERPIECES on top of BATMAN: BLACK AND WHITE. My bad. :o

Welcome back, Disneyboy! Unfortunately, you didn't get the title. Hint: It's also an STAS episode title.

From that clue and the short plot of the issue I would guess the answer to be Identity Crisis, I could be wrong.
*Question is up for grabs if I am right*

Ooohhh, very good guess, but wrong. :) It has a "double" pun involved. Hint hint!

I'd like to take this one, but first, I need to know if I can do a quote from Superman Adventures...? Does that work for everybody?
TimTwoFace
11-22-2002, 01:21 AM
That's perfectly all right, Disneyboy! It is for all animated DCU titles...of course, the SUPERMAN ones seem to be a lot tougher around these parts...

This one should be pretty easy:
Name the issues in which a "super pet" appears, and if you can, the name given to each animal, if one was mentionned...
;)

Good enough! It was issue #21, I believe (LOVE that issue!), and well done I might add!
One left to go, but much like the "streaky" gag, this pet doesn't actually have any powers.
:p You can get it, I'm sure!

Nope. Ok, I give. The last answer was Mr Mxy's remark about Superboy naming his earth pooch "Eartho" as a tribute to the planet he's leaving behind . Next question is up for grabs!
