Was Superman killing those guys in the fighter planes in The Savage Time? In past episodes he has scolded Hawkgirl for getting too rough and not using restraint against the badguys. I got the impression when he and Hawkgirl were being shot at and he said, "Okay, all bets are off", he was just giving her the ok to let loose on the German planes. He may not have been trying to kill them, but he certainly wasn't saving them either. I think this is pretty realistic since this is war, and even Superman understands you have to take drastic measures. On a side note, how cool were those fighter jet scenes??

Well, we did see an awful lot of parachutes, and for the most part it looked like Superman only disabled the planes, but he did do that human torch stunt on one of them, and if he didn't die, the pilot of the plane sure would have been sore in the morning, but Nazi's are resilient little buggers... like cockroaches.

I'm actually glad we don't see parachutes coming out of every plane...it's a little too ridiculous to see that *everyone* survived, much like the "parachute syndrome" in GI Joe. This way, when they show only some parachutes, it's up the audience to decide for themselves.

That said, Superman ROCKED! The human torch thing was cool, and he used his eye beams like crazy.

And what a cool stunt! Best Superman scene in a long time...

And yes, we're expected to think all the parachutes work well :)

While I can't speak for Superman, I'm pretty sure John Stewart killed the sniper that clipped Wildman.

I'm not sure if John killed the sniper, I thought it looked like John shot his gun and knocked him out of the tree. I'll have to see it again.
