Thought you folks (particularly those who enjoyed my issue of BATMAN BEYOND) might be interested to know:

I've written an issue of the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE ADVENTURES comic that will follow the continuity of the Cartoon Network series. Not sure exactly what issue number yet. The first issue is written by the exceptional Ty Templeton. VERY tough act to follow.

More info as it becomes available.

Don't worry (or maybe that should be "Be afraid, be very afraid"?), I'll be sticking around for a bit.

I wasn't planning on picking up any of the JLA issues..but now..I may start!! :)

So, this is sorta really far in advance, but, any idea when it'll hit newsstands? hehe

Actually, that's Paul Storrie, not Paul Dini. BTW, Archie of the WBA and TZN is doing an interview with Paul Dini. Post questions in the WBC Board. Later!

I know that the first issue is due out in November. I expect mine won't be out until February or March.

I only WISH I was Paul Dini! ;)

Actually, the D is my middle initial and the "Storrie" is my honest-to-goodness last name. My only connection to the exceptional Animated shows we love so well is that I wrote issue 23 of the BATMAN BEYOND comic and an upcoming issue of the JUSTICE LEAGUE ADVENTURES comic.

Dunno of any particular way to track down Mr. Dini on the web to chat with him. Sorry.

Well, there are some who think Paul Dini is masquerading on the board, lurking around with some not so obvious screen name, but I doubt he has time for these boards, tho I like the fantasy myself, personally!

Hey Paul - maybe you should ask DC if you can write an issue of BATMAN: GOTHAM ADVENTURES! :)

I think Scott Peterson's got that all sewn up, DG. It is not, however, totally beyond the realm of possibility that I'll make a visit to the present day Animated Series version of Gotham.

I just read yer story will appear within the first few issues and will spotlight Martia Manhunter - this true? Nice pick for a character...

Absolutely true.

One of the things that makes J'onn so appealing to write (indeed, one of the reasons, I'm sure, that John Ostrander wanted to do his regular DCU book) is that he hasn't been explored and interpreted to the same degree as most of his DC contemporaries. The fine folks working on the JUSTICE LEAGUE show have come up with an intriguing take on the character that makes for great storytelling opportunities.

I've don't really know too much about Martian Manhunter aside from his appearances in the short lived ADCU series, so your issue will probably help me understand his character better. And if you did do an issue of Batman Gotham Adventures, do you have an idea what it would be about? Curious...

I'm certainly hoping that my story will give a little insight into J'onn. Let me know if I succeeded once the issue hits, okay?

As for GOTHAM ADVENTURES, I'm certain that I could come up with a story or two (or twelve) about the present day Caped Crusader, but speculating on what I might do with the book seems somehow like saying I don't appreciate what Scott is doing with it now, and I think he's doing some really interesting stories there.

What I will say is that, given the chance to play in the present day Animated Series Gotham, I'd pick some characters who don't appear together too often in the comic and explore how they interact. Maybe do a story where, in addition to dealing with the heroes, some villains have to tangle with each other as well.

It;s funny because issue 23 of Batman Beyond is one of the only good ones. That's why I'm glad you are writing the JLA comic and thats why I will read it.

Funny thing -- a couple weeks ago I got an email from myself. Sort of. Turns out there's a Paul Storrie over in England who stumbled across some article or another about me and decided to drop me a line. Interesting experience!

Thanks, Shriek. Much appreciated.

Technically, at this point I'm just writing a JLA comic. The book will have rotating creative teams to start. Ty Templeton (who did SO much exceptional work on the B:TAS comic) is doing the first issue and several other terrific folks are onboard as well.

I am, however, going to be bugging series editor Dan Raspler about doing more!

Hey folks,

Just realized today that I have been making a GLARING error of ommission in regard to my upcoming JLAdv. issue. What, you may ask?

Well, I'm excited to report that I was once again teamed up with the exception Craig Rousseau, my partner-in-crimefighting from BB #23. If you loved what Craig did with my story in BATMAN BEYOND (and I'm sure you did, if you liked the story at all), then you'll definitely want to check out our issue of JLAdv. when it hits the stands. I'm VERY excited to see what touches and excitement Craig adds to my script.

Mr. Storrie, I really enjoyed your Batman Beyond issue..which is saying something since I've never really appreciated BB. Although it had it's moments, it was only a marketing ploy which...in my opinion, destroyed Bruce's future. I don't want to see him as some old man! I want to see him and Selina together! Maybe you can write a few good stories for Batman: Gotham Adventures. Can you??? Oh, please save us from Levins and Peterson!!!! I am soo close to tears...:(
N-E-Ways, I am posting to say that I am really disappointed that Craig Rousseau will be drawing an issue of JL. His work on B:GA was medeocre to say the least. He has shined more in BB (I really enjoyed his work on Return Of The Joker and issue 23), but I still am apprehensive of his working on what I hope will be a fantastic series. I know I shouldn't be saying all of this, I must seem so rude...I guess I just miss the original fanastic artists (Ty, Parobeck, Burchett) and am frustrated that there is so much talent out there that I would much rather see (Darwin Cooke, Aluir Amancio, Mike Manely, Bret Blevins) in B: GA and TJLA than Min. K. Su., Rousseau, Beatty and Levins. None of them capture the animated style in all its curves and angles, motion and beauty as well as the aforementionned artists. I am so tired of being disapointed with these series' when I have seen just how amazing they can be:(
Please forgive my seeming attacks on a good artist and if you can, help fix and save Batman Gotham Adventures. Please...:(

DisneyBoy,

Glad that you enjoyed BB #23.

Afraid I'm going to have to disappoint you in regard to the rest of your post. To the best of my knowledge, Scott Peterson will be handling the writing reins fo Gotham Adventures all on his own. Truth to tell, I've found lots of the recent issues very intriguing.

Also don't share your trepidations regarding Craig and Justice League Adventures. I was VERY happy with how he did my story for Batman Beyond, so I'm pretty excited about working with him again. For what it's worth, there will be rotating teams on JLAdv. for the time being, so maybe one of the other artists will strike your fancy.

I do have a mini-series in the final approval stages that may meet with your approval, however. As soon as I'm able to give the details, I'll be spilling them here.

Thank you so much for your non-judgemental response to my post. I guess the only thing that bothers me about Craig Rousseau's work are the proportions of his characters. I found Batgirl's ears too large in ROTJ, but I know several people on the board preferred them. I guess it's just a matter of taste...
I eagerly look forward to your mini-series. Not to push my luck, but...does it involve the animated Batman universe? Tell me only what you can! And thanks again for writing back-it's so nice when people respond to posts:)

I loved Batgirl's look in ROTJ, and pretty much all that Craig has done I've been very impressed with. He's one of my favorite artists in the animated books, and I hope he has a good number of issues in the JL run, and I can't wait for B:GA next month for his turn in the book. I guess it all boils down to what hits your fancy... no right or wrong view on the subject...

So many things about comics are, though. Not every artist or writer, even every GOOD artist or writer, is going to satisfy our particular artistic tastes. The longer I'm in and around this business, the more I find that I can appreciate the talent of an individual, even if it doesn't scratch my personal itch. Of course, that still doesn't mean that I buy their book if it doesn't suit me personally. :)

I eagerly look forward to your mini-series. Not to push my luck, but...does it involve the animated Batman universe? Tell me only what you can! And thanks again for writing back-it's so nice when people respond to posts:)
